Emberstone Gemblade

Quickstart

1. Craft the Emberstone Gemblade or obtain it in Creative mode from the Combat tab. You can also use:

   /give @s emberstone-gemblade-xi57f5zb:emberstone_gemblade_xi57f5zb
   

2. Hold it in your main hand or off-hand.
3. Right-click to fire a volley of five fireballs.
4. Press the middle mouse button to release a close-range flame spray.
5. Left-click to use it as a sword. The recipe is automatically unlocked in the Recipe Book.

Overview

The Emberstone Gemblade is a single-stack sword with two fire-based abilities:

• A volley of fireballs that launches five projectiles.
• A three-second flame spray that damages nearby opposing players and can ignite surfaces.

Both abilities require the Gemblade to be held in either hand.

How To Use

The ability keybindings can be changed in Minecraft’s Controls menu. If an ability does nothing, make sure the Gemblade is in your main hand or off-hand and that its cooldown has expired.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Gemblade with 1 Fire Charge, 2 Diamonds, 1 Redstone, and 1 Cobblestone.

In Creative mode, find it in the Combat item group. Its item ID for commands is:

Abilities And Mechanics

Fireball Volley

Right-click while holding the Gemblade to begin a volley of five fireballs.

• One fireball launches immediately, followed by another every second.
• Each fireball travels in the direction you are looking when it launches.
• A fireball that hits a living target deals 1 heart of fire damage.
• A successful hit sets the target on fire for 5 seconds.
• The volley has a 10-second cooldown.
• The fireball does not damage its owner.

Keep the Gemblade held while the volley is firing so the projectiles continue to launch.

Flame Spray

Press the middle mouse button to release a flame spray in the direction you are looking.

• The spray lasts for up to 3 seconds.
• It reaches up to 12 blocks, stopping at solid terrain.
• Flame particles show the spray’s path.
• It damages the first other player it reaches for 5 damage, or 2½ hearts, once per second.
• Each hit sets that player on fire for 2 seconds.
• The ability has a 20-second cooldown.
• When the spray reaches the top face of a block, it can place vanilla fire in the air above that surface.

The flame spray targets other players rather than mobs. Keep the Gemblade in your main hand or off-hand while using the spray.

Progression And Strategy

• Use the fireball volley for ranged pressure against mobs and players.
• Aim each shot separately by adjusting your view during the volley.
• Save the flame spray for a player approaching through a corridor or other narrow area.
• Use the Gemblade as a normal sword between ability cooldowns.
• Avoid wasting the flame spray against terrain where no opponent can be reached; its cooldown is longer than the fireball volley’s.
