Quickstart

1. Gather the three ingredients: a Netherite Sword, a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template, and Obsidian.
2. Place them in a Smithing Table to forge the Elucidator Sword.
3. Put the sword in your main hand and start swinging — no special activation needed.

Overview

The Elucidator Sword is a powerful melee weapon inspired by the iconic blade from Sword Art Online. It sits above the netherite tier in raw damage output, sports a permanent enchanted glint even without any enchantments applied, and is ready to use the moment it lands in your hand.

What It Adds

The mod adds a single item — the Elucidator Sword — which appears in the Combat creative inventory tab alongside other weapons.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Exceptional Damage — The sword deals significantly more damage than a standard netherite sword, making it one of the hardest-hitting melee weapons available.
• Fast-ish Attack Speed — Its attack speed is slightly slower than a netherite sword but still comfortable for regular combat.
• Permanent Enchanted Glint — The blade always displays the shimmering enchantment effect on its texture, regardless of whether any enchantments are actually applied.
• Sword Tag — It is recognised by the game as a sword, meaning it benefits from all sword-related enchantments (Sharpness, Looting, Sweeping Edge, etc.) and interacts correctly with any mechanics that check for swords.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Elucidator Sword is created at a Smithing Table by upgrading a Netherite Sword with Obsidian, using a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template. The recipe is unlocked automatically when you join a world, so it will always appear in your recipe book.

Progression And Strategy

• Mid-to-late game: You need a fully crafted Netherite Sword before you can forge the Elucidator Sword, placing it firmly in late-game progression — after you have visited the Nether and acquired netherite.
• Enchant it: Because the sword already displays a glint, you might assume it is pre-enchanted — it is not. Apply Sharpness, Looting, Unbreaking, or Mending just as you would any netherite sword to maximise its potential.
• Boss and raid fights: The elevated base damage makes it ideal for high-health targets like the Wither, Elder Guardian, or Raid Captains, where every extra point of damage per swing counts.
• Stack with Strength: A Strength potion combined with the Elucidator Sword's already high base damage results in devastating one- or two-hit kills against most overworld mobs.
