Each piece provides a useful status effect, while wearing the complete set grants controlled flight, fire resistance, night vision, speed, and slow falling.
All four pieces have a shimmering appearance and can be equipped in their normal armor slots.
| Armor piece | Individual ability | Armor points |
|---|---|---|
| Dragonfire Flight Armor Helmet | Night vision, or “dragon sight” | 3 |
| Dragonfire Flight Armor Chestplate | Fire resistance and fireball ability | 8 |
| Dragonfire Flight Armor Leggings | Speed | 6 |
| Dragonfire Flight Armor Boots | Slow falling | 3 |
The armor material also provides 3 points of toughness and 10% knockback resistance across the set.
Place each piece in its matching armor slot:
Individual abilities activate when their corresponding piece is worn. The flight bonus requires all four Dragonfire Flight Armor pieces at once.
Wear the complete set and use the normal creative-style flight control. On standard keyboard controls, double-tap the jump key to toggle flight, then use movement controls to fly.
The full-set flight ability does not require an elytra or fireworks.
There are two ways to use the fireball ability:
Fireballs travel in the direction you are looking and can be launched again after the short cooldown expires.
The armor pieces are available from the Creative Combat tab. Their recipes are also unlocked when you enter a world and can be viewed in the recipe book.
Craft the boots from dragon breath, phantom membranes, obsidian, and blaze powder.

Craft the chestplate from netherite ingots, dragon breath, fire charges, and an elytra.

Upgrade a diamond helmet in a smithing table using a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template and a dragon head.

Craft the leggings from diamonds, an elytra, and a fire charge.

Wearing the helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots together grants:
The full-set bonus is based on the exact Dragonfire Flight Armor pieces, so replacing any piece with another armor item removes the set bonus and flight.
The chestplate recipe requires an elytra, and the helmet requires a dragon head, making the set particularly suited to late-game players. The complete set combines aerial mobility with protection from fire and fall damage.
For exploration, wear the full set to fly over terrain and safely descend. Keep the chestplate equipped for fire resistance and use the fireball attack to engage targets from the air. The helmet and leggings remain useful on their own when you are still gathering the materials for the complete set.
