Diamond Afterlife Gate

Quickstart

1. In the Overworld, build a flat, upright rectangular frame from diamond blocks, like a Nether portal frame, leaving the middle open.
2. Attach an item frame to one of the diamond blocks and put a diamond in it.
3. Stand near the frame. A completed diamond-block outline with a diamond in its item frame takes you to The Middle of Death and Life.
4. Use the Life Anchor you receive to open a travel menu. Choose its travel option to return to the Overworld, or choose Cancel to stay.

Overview

Diamond Afterlife Gate opens a custom dimension with a rolling landscape of unusual terrain, trees, and plants. The diamond-block frame is its gateway; the Life Anchor gives you another way to travel.

What It Adds

• The Middle of Death and Life, with rolling terrain and watery shores.
• Afterlife Grass, Afterlife Soil, Afterlife Stone, and Afterlife Shore.
• Soulwood Logs and Leaves, plus the Memory Bloom and Life Sprig plants.
• The Life Anchor, used to open the travel menu.

How To Use

The gate is activated by a diamond in an item frame attached to a diamond-block outline. It does not use fire. Build the frame vertically and keep it flat; a complete, Nether-portal-style outline is a good way to make it recognizable. Be in the Overworld and near the frame when it is ready.

Use the Life Anchor to open the travel menu. The menu offers the trip appropriate to where you are—travel or return—and a cancel option. You can also craft an anchor if you want another way to access travel.

Crafting And Obtaining

The gate uses diamond blocks and an item frame; the diamond placed inside the item frame is separate from the blocks. You receive a Life Anchor when the gate takes you to the dimension. If your inventory is full, it drops nearby.

Craft the Life Anchor at a crafting table using 4 diamonds, 2 echo shards, 1 ender pearl, 1 amethyst shard, and 1 crying obsidian:

The dimension’s terrain and plants can be gathered there. Shovels suit Afterlife Grass, Soil, and Shore; a pickaxe suits Afterlife Stone; and an axe suits Soulwood Logs.

Abilities And Mechanics

While the dimension is occupied, the world is held at night and natural mob spawning is disabled. The previous time and spawning settings are restored when the dimension is empty.

Progression And Strategy

Start by exploring the rolling terrain and shores, and gather its distinctive blocks and plants for building or decoration. Keep a Life Anchor handy for the return trip; you can craft another if needed.
