Description
Craft an Oasis Flask from a glass bottle, sugar, and cactus: . Hold it and use it to drink; it reduces heat stress by 50 percentage points and returns an empty glass bottle (unless you’re in Creative mode).
Then try exploring a desert or badlands in daylight. Stay in direct sunlight to build heat stress, and find shade or leave the hot biome to cool down. Watch the action-bar status for your current stress and what it’s doing to you.
Heat stress builds while you’re exposed to daytime sunlight in desert, badlands, or mesa biomes. It cools at night and while sheltered in those biomes, and cools faster outside them. Your stress is retained for your player, up to 100%.
The action bar shows your heat stress percentage and a state:
| Stress | State | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| 1–24% | COOL | Stress is present but below the overheating threshold. |
| 25–49% | OVERHEATING | Heat stress is rising; seek shade or cooler surroundings. |
| 50–79% | MIRAGES | You may experience disorienting nausea and a horizon-ripple warning. |
| 80–100% | HEATSTROKE | Slowness and heatstroke warnings begin; mirage glints may appear nearby. |
The Oasis Flask removes 50 percentage points of stress, so drink one when you need to bring your stress below a threshold. Cooling below the mirage threshold clears the mirage state.
The Oasis Flask is made shapelessly from a glass bottle, sugar, and cactus. Drinking it consumes the flask and gives you an empty glass bottle back in Survival. In Creative mode, using it does not consume it.
