Quickstart

• Craft the blade using an iron sword recipe layout, or find one already waiting for you in a fresh world's bonus chest.
• Equip it in your hand and swing away — but count your hits, because this blade only has 23 swings before it shatters for good.
• Once broken, it's gone. Craft another if you want to keep using it.

Overview

The Decayed Azure Blade is a fragile but functional iron-tier sword. It hits like a standard iron sword, but its edge is decaying — it can only be swung 23 times before it breaks completely and disappears from your inventory. It's a novelty weapon best suited for a quick fight or a bit of bonus-chest luck.

What It Adds

• Decayed Azure Blade — a one-handed sword with iron-level attack damage and very limited durability.

How To Use

• Hold the blade like any other sword and attack mobs or players with it.
• Watch its durability bar in your hotbar — it depletes with each swing.
• After 23 uses, the blade breaks and is removed. There is no way to repair or restore it once destroyed, so use your swings wisely.

Crafting And Obtaining

The blade can be crafted at a crafting table using iron ingots and a stick in a sword pattern:

It can also appear naturally as loot in the bonus chest that spawns when starting a new world with the bonus chest option enabled. There's roughly a 1-in-4 chance the bonus chest will contain one.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Deals the same attack damage as a standard iron sword.
• Fits in the "sword" item category, so it works with any effects, enchantments, or interactions that apply to swords generally.
• Can only be carried one at a time in a stack (it does not stack with other blades).
• Has a hard limit of 23 uses before breaking — there is no repair mechanic for this weapon, so treat each fight as spending some of its limited lifespan.

Progression And Strategy

Because of its extremely limited durability, the Decayed Azure Blade works best as an emergency weapon or a fun early-game find rather than a primary tool. Save its swings for moments that matter — tough mobs, PvP encounters, or finishing off an enemy — rather than everyday tasks like chopping wood or mining. Once it breaks, craft a fresh one if you want to use it again.
