- Hold the siren and use the placement control on the ground or another suitable location.
- The placed item forms a complete, two-block-wide, two-block-long, two-block-tall siren structure. Its orientation follows the direction you place it.
- Wait for a tornado to appear within 64 blocks. The siren automatically plays a warning sound from its location.
Overview
The Cyclone Warning Siren gives your world an automatic tornado alert. Place sirens around settlements, bases, or other important areas so nearby tornadoes trigger an audible warning.
No manual activation is required. Once placed, a siren listens for tornadoes in its area and sounds when one is detected.
What It Adds
- Cyclone Warning Siren item
- A large, directional siren structure formed when the item is placed
- Automatic tornado detection
- A warning sound played from nearby sirens
How To Use
Placing a Siren
Hold the Cyclone Warning Siren and use the normal Minecraft block-placement control. The placement direction determines the siren’s facing.
The item immediately forms its complete structure when placed. Leave enough open space for the full 2×2×2 structure.
Receiving Warnings
A siren activates automatically when a tornado appears within 64 blocks of its location. The warning sound originates from the siren, so place it where players can hear it.
Siren detection is limited to the same dimension as the tornado. A tornado in another dimension does not activate it.
Using Multiple Sirens
You can place multiple sirens throughout a settlement or region. Each siren independently warns when a tornado is close enough to it, allowing broad areas to be covered with several warning points.
Crafting And Obtaining
The siren is available in the Creative inventory under items.
To craft one, use:
- 4 Iron Ingots
- 1 Redstone
- 1 Note Block
- 1 Stick
Abilities And Mechanics
- Automatic activation: Sirens do not need redstone power, switches, or interaction after placement.
- Tornado range: A tornado must spawn within 64 blocks of a siren to trigger its warning.
- Three-dimensional range: Height counts toward the 64-block distance, so tornadoes far above or below a siren may be out of range.
- Directional placement: The finished siren faces according to the direction in which it was placed.
- Location-based sound: When activated, the warning sound plays at the siren’s position.
Progression And Strategy
- Place a siren near your main base first so you have an early warning point.
- Build a network of sirens around large settlements, farms, and travel routes.
- Position sirens where their sound can reach the areas you use most.
- Use overlapping coverage from multiple sirens to reduce areas without a warning.
- Place sirens at different heights when protecting buildings spread across steep terrain.
