Creepus Void Hunger

Quickstart

1. In Creative mode, find the Creepus Void Hunger Spawn Egg and use it to spawn Creepus. He also spawns naturally underground in the Deep Dark on Normal or Hard difficulty, at low light.
2. Approach and listen for his warning: he demands the Overseer’s sword and gives you a few moments.
3. To avoid a fight, hold any sword and interact with Creepus. He consumes one sword and becomes pacified. You can still offer one after he turns hostile.
4. To fight him, wait out the warning. Keep moving, and be ready for Creepus to summon minions.

Overview

Creepus is a large boss with 400 health and a boss bar. The encounter can end peacefully if you give him a sword, or become a fight against Creepus and his summoned horde.

What It Adds

• Creepus Void Hunger, with a spawn egg and natural Deep Dark spawning.
• Hostile minions summoned during the fight.
• A guaranteed Purified Nether Star for a player-killed Creepus, plus a chance for gunpowder.

How To Use

Creepus begins non-hostile. When a player is nearby, he warns you to give him the Overseer’s sword. Interact while holding a sword to offer it; one sword is consumed, and Creepus turns away. The interaction accepts any sword, not just a specific one.

Ignore the demand and Creepus becomes hostile after a few moments. He can also be pacified by offering a sword after the fight begins.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Void strike: Creepus’s melee attack deals 18 base damage and briefly inflicts Slowness.
• Summoning: When hostile and within range and line of sight of a player, Creepus can summon up to two minions at a time. Up to four minions can be nearby.
• Minions: Each has 40 health and deals 8 base damage with its melee attack.
• Boss presence: Creepus’s boss bar appears nearby, and he darkens the sky.

Progression And Strategy

If you want to pacify Creepus, keep a sword ready so you can offer it before or during the fight. If you intend to defeat him, focus on Creepus while watching for minions; his strikes hit hard and can slow you.

A player-killed Creepus drops one Purified Nether Star. He also has a 75% chance to drop 4–8 gunpowder; Looting can improve that drop.
