Comet Villager

Quickstart

1. Obtain a Comet Villager Spawn Egg from the Creative inventory, or craft one at a crafting table using the in-game recipe book.
2. Select the spawn egg and use it on the ground to place a Comet Villager.
3. Approach the villager and use the Interact with Comet Villager button to open its trading screen.
4. Check its profession and offers. Newly spawned adults receive a random village profession.
5. Place it in a secure trading area with access to beds and workstations. Hostile mobs cannot damage it, but environmental hazards such as lava can.

You can also obtain the spawn egg directly with:

/give @s com_comet_villager_mj75up2z:myvillager_spawn_egg 1

The Comet Villager cannot be created with /summon; use its spawn egg or wait for natural spawning.

Overview

The Comet Villager is a persistent, three-eyed trader with unusual alien-like sounds and the daily routines of a village inhabitant. It wanders, gathers, works, visits homes, and sleeps like a villager while remaining protected from hostile mob attacks.

How To Use

Spawning With The Egg

The Comet Villager Spawn Egg is available in the Nature section of the Creative inventory and can stack to 64. Hold the egg and use it on a suitable block to place the mob.

The egg has a purple base with a pink overlay, making it easy to distinguish from an ordinary Villager Spawn Egg.

Trading

Use the Comet Villager while standing on the ground or while it is sleeping to open its trading interface. Its profession determines the types of offers it provides.

Trade offers are persistent. Once a Comet Villager has established its offers, they remain associated with that villager and can be restocked as it follows its work routine.

Naming And Housing

The Comet Villager can be named with a Name Tag. For a reliable trading area:

• Build a roofed enclosure with enough room to move.
• Provide a bed if you want it to follow a normal village schedule.
• Add an appropriate workstation for its profession.
• Keep the enclosure away from lava and other environmental hazards.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Comet Villager Spawn Egg has a shaped crafting-table recipe. Its recipe uses a Villager Spawn Egg together with amethyst materials and magma cream. The mod also provides a shaped crafting-table recipe for the Villager Spawn Egg used as that ingredient.

Use the crafting table’s recipe book to view the required ingredients and layout. In Creative mode, the Comet Villager Spawn Egg can be taken directly from the Nature inventory category.

Natural Spawning

Comet Villagers can naturally appear:

• On the surface of the world.
• In biomes tagged as villages.
• On grass blocks, sand, snow, or podzol.
• In bright conditions equivalent to daytime.
• In groups of one or two.

Their natural spawn weight is low, so using the spawn egg is the most dependable way to create one where you want it.

Drops

When killed by a player, a Comet Villager has a chance to drop up to one gold nugget. The base drop chance is 15%, and Looting improves the drop roll.

Abilities And Mechanics

Hostile-Mob Protection

Hostile mobs cannot damage the Comet Villager. This protection includes common threats such as zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders, illagers, ravagers, piglins, and zoglins.

The villager may still avoid or flee from certain hostile mobs even though their attacks do not harm it.

Environmental Hazards

The protection applies to hostile mob attacks, not every source of damage. Lava can still hurt the Comet Villager. Lightning can also transform it into a witch when the world is not on Peaceful difficulty.

Professions

Adult Comet Villagers receive a random profession when they spawn. Possible professions include:

• Farmer
• Fisherman
• Shepherd
• Fletcher
• Librarian
• Cartographer
• Cleric
• Armorer
• Weaponsmith
• Toolsmith
• Butcher
• Leatherworker
• Mason
• Nitwit
• Unskilled

Children may also appear naturally or from spawning, and do not function as normal adult traders until they grow up.

Village Behavior

The Comet Villager behaves as a village inhabitant. Depending on its profession and schedule, it may:

• Wander around the village.
• Gather with other villagers.
• Visit a workstation and work.
• Move indoors near evening.
• Find and use a bed.
• Pick up suitable food and farming items.
• Share items with other villagers.
• Restock trade offers during its work routine.

Progression And Strategy

• Spawn several Comet Villagers if you want to search for different professions and trade inventories.
• Use one as a protected trading-hall resident, but keep it away from lava and lightning.
• Give the villager room to reach its bed and workstation so it can maintain its normal schedule and restock trades.
• Name important traders so they are easy to identify.
• Use natural spawning to discover Comet Villagers in village regions, then use spawn eggs to expand your settlement.
