Coalfire Spitter

Quickstart

1. Craft the Coalfire Spitter using the recipe below (or simply check your recipe book — it unlocks automatically for every player).
2. Hold it in your hand and right-click (or use your Use Item control) while aiming at a target.
3. Watch it launch a blazing fireball that explodes on impact, just like a Blaze's attack.
4. Keep firing — the weapon has a short cooldown between shots and slowly wears down with use.

Overview

The Coalfire Spitter is a ranged combat item that turns you into a walking fireball launcher. Point it at enemies and unleash small fireballs that ignite and explode on contact, making it a great tool for clearing mobs from a distance or lighting up battles with a bit of fiery flair.

What It Adds

• Coalfire Spitter — a one-of-a-kind combat item found in the Combat tab of the Creative inventory.

How To Use

• Hold the Coalfire Spitter in either hand and use it (right-click by default) to fire a small fireball in the direction you're facing.
• Each shot plays a Blaze-like screech sound and consumes a small amount of the item's durability.
• After firing, there's a brief cooldown (about 1 second) before you can shoot again.
• The fireball behaves like a Blaze's fireball: it deals fire damage and can ignite blocks and entities on impact, so be careful using it near flammable terrain or structures.
• The item can only be held one at a time in your inventory (it doesn't stack), and it will eventually run out of durability after extended use — keep an eye on its damage bar if you plan to use it heavily.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Coalfire Spitter with coal blocks, fire charges, blaze powder, and a stick arranged as shown:

You don't need to hunt down the recipe manually — it's automatically added to your recipe book as soon as you join the world, so you can check the crafting table's recipe list at any time for a reminder of the pattern.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Fireball Attack: Fires a small explosive fireball on use, dealing damage and fire effects to whatever it hits.
• Durability: The Spitter has limited durability and takes wear each time it's fired, so it isn't infinitely usable — plan your shots.
• Cooldown: A short cooldown prevents rapid-fire spam, encouraging timed, deliberate use rather than constant spraying.
• Enchanting: The Coalfire Spitter can be enchanted with durability-boosting and Fire Aspect enchantments at an enchanting table or anvil, letting you extend its lifespan or add extra burn effects.

Progression And Strategy

Since the Coalfire Spitter has a fixed durability pool and a firing cooldown, treat it as a supplemental combat tool rather than your only weapon — pair it with a sword or bow for melee or sustained ranged combat. Use its fireballs to soften up groups of enemies, ignite flammable terrain strategically, or finish off fleeing foes from range. Consider enchanting it with Unbreaking to stretch its usable life, or Fire Aspect for even more burn damage on any melee follow-up. Because it doesn't stack, keep a spare in a chest if you plan on long fights, and repair it at an anvil with matching materials when it runs low on durability.
