Clear And Add Blocks
Quickstart
- Enable the addon for your world (Creative mode required).
- Open your inventory and search the Construction tab for any of the six new blocks.
- To clear a large area: place a Stone Clear Block (C), Diamond Clear Block (C), or Netherite Clear Block (C) anywhere. The moment it is placed, all blocks in a sphere outward and upward from that spot are instantly replaced with air.
- To fill in a flat surface: place a Grass Add Block (A), Stone Add Block (A), or Sand Add Block (A). The moment it is placed, every air pocket, cave, water body, or lava pool within a massive horizontal radius and up to 20 blocks below the placed level is filled with the matching block type.
- You can mine the placed block with the appropriate tool (pickaxe for Clear/Stone Add blocks; shovel for Grass Add and Sand Add) to recover it and reuse it elsewhere.
Overview
Clear And Add Blocks is a Creative-mode utility addon that gives builders and terraformers six single-purpose trigger blocks. Three blocks instantly clear space above and around their placement point; three blocks instantly fill gaps and hollows below and around their placement point. Each block fires its effect the moment it is placed, making bulk terrain editing a matter of a single click.
What It Adds
| Block | Type | Effect |
|---|
| Stone Clear Block (C) | Clear | Removes all blocks in a 10-block radius upward & outward |
| Diamond Clear Block (C) | Clear | Removes all blocks in a 30-block radius upward & outward |
| Netherite Clear Block (C) | Clear | Removes all blocks in a 60-block radius upward & outward |
| Grass Add Block (A) | Add | Fills replaceable spaces with Grass Block across a 1000-block horizontal radius, up to 20 blocks down |
| Stone Add Block (A) | Add | Fills replaceable spaces with Stone across a 1000-block horizontal radius, up to 20 blocks down |
| Sand Add Block (A) | Add | Fills replaceable spaces with Sand across a 1000-block horizontal radius, up to 20 blocks down |
All six blocks appear in the Construction category of the Creative inventory with their own unique textures and names.
How To Use
Clear Blocks (C)
Place a Clear block on any solid surface or in mid-air. The instant it is placed, every block from that Y level upward and within the block's radius is replaced with air. Blocks below the placed level are never touched — the effect only goes upward and outward.
- Stone Clear Block (C) — clears a 10-block radius: good for small rooms or tight cave pockets.
- Diamond Clear Block (C) — clears a 30-block radius: ideal for medium-sized open spaces.
- Netherite Clear Block (C) — clears a 60-block radius: suited for massive hollowed-out areas or mountain removal.
Because the Clear block itself occupies the placement spot, it is included in the cleared volume and will disappear along with the surrounding blocks. If you want to keep the block, mine it first before the effect completes (or simply retrieve it from your inventory again).
Tip: Place a Clear block at the base of the area you want to hollow out. Everything from that floor level upward within the radius will be removed.
Add Blocks (A)
Place an Add block at the level you want to become the new filled surface. The block instantly scans a 1,000-block horizontal radius around the placement point and fills every replaceable space — air, cave air, water, flowing water, lava, and flowing lava — that falls between 20 blocks below the placed level and the placed level itself. It never places blocks above where you placed it.
Replaceable spaces filled by each block:
- Grass Add Block (A) → fills with Grass Block
- Stone Add Block (A) → fills with Stone
- Sand Add Block (A) → fills with Sand
Tip: Place an Add block at ground level on a flat plain to instantly fill all caves, ravines, and water bodies beneath a wide area without raising the surface.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Instant trigger on placement: All effects fire the moment the block is placed; no redstone, no activation item, no waiting.
- Directional awareness:
- Clear blocks work upward and outward only — they never remove anything below the placed Y level.
- Add blocks work downward and outward only — they never build anything above the placed Y level.
- Replaceable targets (Add blocks only): Only air, cave air, water, flowing water, lava, and flowing lava are replaced. Solid blocks are always preserved.
- Large operations are queued: Very large fill operations are processed over multiple game ticks so the game remains stable. The world will catch up quickly, but for the largest radii (especially Netherite Clear or any Add block), you may see the fill complete over a brief moment rather than all at once.
- Mineable: Clear blocks require a pickaxe; Grass Add and Sand Add blocks require a shovel; Stone Add Block requires a pickaxe.
Progression And Strategy
Since all six blocks are Creative-only, there is no crafting progression. The strategic choices are about which block to use where:
- Building a large underground base? Use a Netherite Clear Block (C) placed at floor level to hollow out a 60-block sphere in one click, then use Stone Add Block (A) to seal off any remaining cave openings below your floor.
- Creating a flat terrain? Use an Add block at the desired surface height to fill all hollows underneath, then a Clear block just above to remove any hills poking through.
- Precise surface editing? Start with Stone Clear Block (C) for small, controlled clearings before scaling up to Diamond or Netherite.
- Waterproofing a build area? Place a Stone Add Block (A) or Sand Add Block (A) to fill in any water or lava pools across a huge area before you start building.
