Description
Lucky Blocks drop matching armor pieces, a deadly Lucky Zombie, and hidden shrine surprises
Mod Wiki
Classic Lucky Block
Quickstart
- Craft a Classic Lucky Block using the recipe below (you'll automatically know this recipe as soon as you join a world).
- Place it anywhere in the world.
- Break it with any tool — the moment it's destroyed, your fortune (or misfortune) is revealed!
- Keep breaking Lucky Blocks to collect treasure, gear up with unique armor and weapons, survive the occasional Lucky Zombie ambush, and stumble onto hidden shrine loot.

Overview
The Classic Lucky Block is a single, unassuming block that turns every break into a gamble. Smash one open and you might walk away with diamonds, enchanted golden apples, powerful potion effects, full sets of enchanted "Lucky" armor, exclusive weapons — or you might trigger an explosion, a lightning strike, a nasty debuff, or even summon a dangerous Lucky Zombie. Some outcomes reveal hidden shrine structures loaded with extra surprises.
What It Adds
- Classic Lucky Block – the core block; breaking it triggers a random outcome.
- Lucky Block Armor Set – Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, and Boots, each pre-enchanted and tougher than netherite.
- Lucky Block Sword – an extremely hard-hitting netherite-tier blade.
- Lucky Block Shield – an oversized, glowing shield with huge durability.
- Lucky Potion – a drinkable buff bomb.
- Lucky Card – a usable item that showers the player in buffs and fires a burst of explosive energy.
- Lucky Zombie – a much stronger zombie variant that can spawn as a Lucky Block outcome, with a matching spawn egg available for spawning it directly.
- Lucky Block Shrine – a hidden structure that can appear as part of certain Lucky Block outcomes.
How To Use
- Placing: Treat the Classic Lucky Block like any building block — place it on the ground, in walls, or anywhere you want to gamble later.
- Breaking: Mine it with any pickaxe or axe. Because it needs at least a diamond-tier tool to break efficiently, bring good gear before you start farming outcomes.
- Triggering the effect: The random outcome fires the instant the block is broken — stand back if you're not sure what's coming, since some results are explosive, summon lightning, or spawn a Lucky Zombie.
- Equipping armor and weapons: Any Lucky Block gear you receive can be worn/wielded immediately like normal armor and weapons.
- Using the Lucky Potion: Right-click while holding it to drink it, gaining a huge stack of positive effects (Resistance, Strength, Speed, Haste, Absorption, and more) for a short time. Empties into a glass bottle when finished.
- Using the Lucky Card: Right-click to activate it. It grants an even stronger, longer-lasting buff package (including Luck and Night Vision) and launches a controlled explosive burst in the direction you're looking. Has a short cooldown and is consumed on use.
- Spawning a Lucky Zombie manually: Use the Lucky Zombie Spawn Egg on the ground like any spawn egg to summon one directly, without needing to break a block.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Classic Lucky Block itself is the only item with a known crafting recipe — everything else (armor, sword, shield, potions, cards, zombie loot) is obtained as a random reward from breaking Lucky Blocks. The crafting recipe is automatically taught to every player as soon as they join the world, so you can start crafting Lucky Blocks right away without hunting for a recipe book.
Repairing Lucky Block armor: gold ingots work as a repair material in an anvil, and a Classic Lucky Block itself can also be used to mend the armor.
Abilities And Mechanics
Breaking a Lucky Block rolls one of many possible outcomes at random, including (but not limited to):
- Bonus resources: diamonds, gold ingots, iron ingots, emeralds, or even a netherite ingot.
- Food and healing bundles: golden apples, enchanted golden apples, and cooked beef.
- Positive buffs: Speed, Jump Boost, Strength, and Resistance.
- Negative effects: Poison, Weakness, and Slowness.
- Hazards: a mid-sized explosion or a lightning strike at the block's location.
- Combat encounters: spawning a Lucky Zombie — a heavily buffed zombie with far more health and attack power than a normal one, so be ready for a real fight.
- Gear drops: one of the Lucky Block armor pieces, pre-enchanted with strong protective and utility enchantments (Protection, Unbreaking, Mending, plus slot-specific enchants like Respiration/Aqua Affinity on the helmet, Thorns on the chestplate, Swift Sneak on the leggings, and Feather Falling/Depth Strider on the boots).
- Exploration hooks: revealing a hidden Lucky Block Shrine structure with its own stash of surprises to discover.
Lucky Block Armor is noticeably stronger than vanilla armor: high protection and toughness values, bonus max health while worn, and knockback resistance, alongside strong built-in enchantments.
Lucky Block Sword hits far harder than any vanilla weapon, at the cost of a slower swing speed. Lucky Block Shield offers exceptional durability for prolonged blocking.
Progression And Strategy
- Start by crafting and breaking a few Lucky Blocks in a safe, open area — some outcomes are destructive or summon a tough enemy.
- Stockpile resources (gold, diamonds, iron) from friendlier outcomes to keep crafting more Lucky Blocks and repairing your Lucky Block gear.
- Be ready to fight: Lucky Zombies hit hard and have a large health pool, so don't get caught off guard without decent gear.
- Collect the full Lucky Block armor set piece by piece through repeated breaking for a big boost to survivability.
- Save your Lucky Potion and Lucky Card for tough fights or exploration pushes — their buffs are powerful but temporary.
- Keep an eye out for shrine reveals while breaking blocks; these hidden structures are worth exploring for extra loot.
