Boomerang Flower

Quickstart

1. Craft a Boomerang Flower using sticks and alliums (see recipe below).
2. Hold it in your hand and right-click to throw it.
3. Watch it fly forward, hit enemies, reverse course, and return to your hand.
4. In Survival, each throw consumes one Boomerang Flower from your stack — stock up before heading out!

Overview

The Boomerang Flower is a throwable combat item that behaves like a classic boomerang. Hurl it in the direction you're looking and it will arc forward through the air, strike anything in its path, then automatically reverse course and fly back to you — dealing damage a second time on the return trip.

What It Adds

• Boomerang Flower — a stackable, throwable projectile item found in the Combat item group.

How To Use

• Right-click (Use Item) while holding a Boomerang Flower to throw it.
• The boomerang launches in the direction you are facing.
• It travels forward for about one second, then smoothly returns toward you at speed.
• Any mob or player (other than yourself) caught in its path — going or coming — takes damage.
• When the boomerang gets close enough to you on its return, it is automatically collected (removed from the world).
• A short cooldown (~1.5 seconds) applies after each throw to prevent rapid spamming.

Crafting And Obtaining

The recipe is unlocked automatically when you join a world. Craft Boomerang Flowers at a crafting table using Sticks and Alliums:

Boomerang Flowers stack up to 16 per slot, so you can carry a generous supply without taking up much inventory space.

Abilities And Mechanics

• The boomerang passes through blocks — hitting a block causes it to start returning early rather than stopping.
• The boomerang never damages its thrower, even on the return trip.
• If the boomerang is still in the air after roughly 10 seconds, it automatically disappears.
• If the thrower is gone or dead when the boomerang is returning, it disappears immediately.
• The boomerang is immune to explosions and won't be destroyed by them mid-flight.

Progression And Strategy

• Double-damage potential: Every throw can hit a target twice — once outbound and once on the return path. Position yourself so enemies are directly in the boomerang's flight line to maximize hits.
• Stock up early: Since each throw costs one Boomerang Flower in Survival, farm alliums and sticks before dangerous encounters. Carrying a full stack of 16 gives you 16 throws (up to 32 total hits).
• Kiting tool: The boomerang's automatic return means you can throw, back away, and let the return arc catch pursuing mobs — great for keeping distance while dealing consistent damage.
• Creative practice: In Creative mode the item is never consumed, making it a perfect way to learn the boomerang's flight arc and timing before committing resources in Survival.
