Mod Wiki
Bluefire Hallow Reapers
Quickstart
- Prepare a hoe before in-game day 10. When a Hallow spirit appears, keep the hoe in your main hand and attack with it; on day 10, other weapons won’t hurt these spirits.
- Craft a scythe at a crafting table. From day 11 onward, hold a scythe in your main hand to damage Hallow spirits.
- Try using a scythe in a clear space: it creates a short wall in the direction you’re facing. The Hellfire Scythe creates a blue-flame Hellfire Hallow Wall.
Overview
The mod turns survival into a growing haunting. Hallow spirits begin appearing on day 10, and the weapon that can defeat them depends on the current day: use hoes on day 10, then scythes from day 11 onward.
The haunting cycles through the Soulless, Hallow Wraith, Hallow Bonecaller, and Hallow Broodstalker. If a Hallow spirit is already nearby, another may not appear until it is gone.
What It Adds
| Content | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Soulless | A durable, melee-attacking spirit. |
| Hallow Wraith | A fast, flying attacker. |
| Hallow Bonecaller | A skeleton-like foe that can attack with a bow. |
| Hallow Broodstalker | A climbing, spider-like attacker. |
| Scythes | Iron, Golden, Diamond, Netherite, Fire, and Hellfire variants. Using one also creates a wall. |
| Soul Ember | A drop from Hallow spirits, used to craft the Hallow Guard and Hellfire Scythe. |
| Hallow Guard | A shield crafted with diamonds and a Soul Ember. |
| Hallow Walls | Player-unbreakable walls created by scythes. Hallow spirits can break ordinary Hallow Walls, but not Hellfire Hallow Walls. |
How To Use
- Fight the haunting: On day 10, attack with any hoe held in your main hand. From day 11 onward, use a scythe in your main hand. Other weapons won’t damage the Hallow spirits.
- Create a wall: Use a scythe while facing the direction you want to block. It places a wall ahead of you, up to three blocks wide and two blocks high, in available air or liquid spaces. There is a brief cooldown between uses.
- Choose your wall: Most scythes create Hallow Walls. The Fire Scythe adds flame effects; the Hellfire Scythe creates blue-flame Hellfire Hallow Walls, which Hallow spirits cannot break.
- Find crafting materials: Hallow spirits drop Soul Embers. The Broodstalker can also drop string and, if killed by a player, a spider eye. Bonecallers may drop a bow and leather armor.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft scythes and the Hallow Guard at a crafting table. The recipes for the scythes are:
| Item | Recipe |
|---|---|
| Iron Scythe | |
| Golden Scythe | |
| Diamond Scythe | |
| Netherite Scythe | |
| Fire Scythe | |
| Hellfire Scythe | |
| Hallow Guard |
The Netherite Scythe is crafted with a Diamond Scythe and a Netherite Ingot. Both the Fire Scythe and Hellfire Scythe use a Netherite Scythe as their base: the Fire Scythe requires Redstone, while the Hellfire Scythe requires a Soul Ember.
Hallow Wraith, Hallow Bonecaller, and Hallow Broodstalker spawn eggs are available for placing these mobs in the world.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Hallow Walls cannot be broken by players. Hallow spirits can break nearby ordinary Hallow Walls; Hellfire Hallow Walls withstand them.
- Each scythe creates a wall when used, so it can serve as both a weapon and a temporary barrier.
- The Hellfire Scythe is the most damaging scythe and makes the blue-flame wall. The Fire Scythe makes a regular Hallow Wall with flame effects.
Progression And Strategy
Prepare a hoe before day 10, then make a scythe as soon as you can. Iron is a practical starting point; Diamond and Netherite scythes are sturdier upgrades. Save Soul Embers from defeated spirits for the Hallow Guard or the Hellfire Scythe.
Use walls to control an approach or give yourself room to fight. If a haunting spirit breaks an ordinary wall, switch to the Hellfire Scythe’s blue-flame barrier.
