Choose a Blood Route, fight with the blade, and build a killstreak that unlocks passive effects, faster cooldowns, stronger bleeding, and the final God Hunter state.
The blade also provides:
Deaths reset the current killstreak. The streak can reach a maximum of 50.
| Item | Use |
|---|---|
| Blood Arcane Gem | Epic crafting material used for the Bloodlock Blade and Obsidian Blood Crown |
| Bloodlock Blade | Main combat weapon and ability hub |
| Obsidian Blood Crown | Helmet with a powerful active ability; also enables Full Armor Resonance |
| Blood Serpent Crown Helm | Helmet used as part of the complete Blood Serpent armor set |
| Blood Serpent Chestplate | Blood Serpent torso armor |
| Blood Serpent Leggings | Blood Serpent leg armor |
| Blood Serpent Boots | Blood Serpent foot armor |
The Bloodlock Blade has 2,031 durability. Netherite ingots repair one quarter of its maximum durability, while a Nether Star repairs it completely.
The Obsidian Blood Crown has protection 6 and 407 durability. The Blood Serpent pieces have the following protection and durability:
| Armor piece | Protection | Durability |

| Blood Serpent Crown Helm | 5 | 407 |

| Blood Serpent Leggings | 6 | 555 |
| Blood Serpent Boots | 5 | 481 |
All of these armor pieces can be repaired with Netherite Ingots.
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Attack while holding the blade | Deals route-based damage and can apply bleed or Siphon |
| Use once after a successful hit | Activates Blood Lock if the timing and cooldown are valid |
| Use twice quickly | Opens the Ability Hub |
| Sneak and use | Fires Blood Slash and costs two hearts |
The blade's route-based melee damage is:
Before choosing a route, the blade refuses to deal normal melee damage and applies an extremely powerful Weakness effect. Open the Ability Hub and choose a route before entering combat.
The action bar displays your current streak, title, route, and the cooldown states of your main abilities.
A successful blade hit opens a short Blood Lock activation window. Use the blade once during this window to gain Resistance I for 3 seconds.
Blood Lock has an 18-second cooldown, reduced after reaching a killstreak of 20.
Sneak and use the Bloodlock Blade to launch a straight projectile.
Successful blade strikes have a chance to restore a small amount of health. Siphon occurs automatically during combat and has a 5-second cooldown.
Gluttony has the highest chance to trigger Siphon, Pride has the lowest, and Wrath is between them.
Use the blade twice quickly to open the Ability Hub. It shows:
The Hub also lets you choose a route if you have not chosen one yet. Route choices are permanent for that player.
Craft the Blood Arcane Gem in a crafting table using Crying Obsidian, Echo Shards, a Nether Star, and a Diamond.

The Bloodlock Blade requires a Blood Arcane Gem, Closed Eyeblossoms, Coal Blocks, Ancient Debris, and a Diamond.

The Obsidian Blood Crown requires Obsidian, a Blood Arcane Gem, and Netherite Ingots.

The Blood Serpent armor pieces can be obtained from the Creative inventory or with their item IDs. The complete set requires:
The Obsidian Blood Crown is a separate helmet and does not replace the Blood Serpent Crown Helm when activating the full-set passive.
Blade attacks can inflict Bleed. Bleed stacks up to six times and periodically deals damage based on the number of stacks.
Wrath applies the most stacks, Gluttony applies a moderate amount, and Pride applies the fewest.
Select Heart Sacrifice in the Ability Hub while holding the Bloodlock Blade.
You must have more than one heart remaining to use abilities that sacrifice health.
Each route provides four abilities. Every route ability costs one heart and has its own cooldown. Route cooldowns become shorter after reaching 20 kills.
Wrath focuses on direct damage, shockwaves, counterattacks, and heavy bleeding.
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Crimson Frenzy | Grants Strength II and Speed I for 4 seconds, followed by Weakness I |
| Bloodquake | Damages living enemies within 5 blocks and grants Resistance I for 3 seconds |
| Red Reprisal | Grants Strength III and Resistance I for a short burst, followed by Weakness II |
| Hemorrhage | Damages and heavily bleeds living enemies within 10 blocks |
Wrath's main drawback is the Weakness that follows its strongest attacks.
Pride focuses on defense, crowd control, shields, and judgment.
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Royal Blood Aegis | Grants Resistance II and Absorption II for 5 seconds, with Slowness I |
| Sovereign Command | Grants Resistance I and Regeneration I while weakening and slowing nearby enemies |
| Mirror of Vanity | Grants a large Absorption shield and Resistance I, but also Slowness II |
| Crowned Verdict | Damages and makes enemies within 12 blocks glow, then grants Strength I |
Pride's defensive powers often slow you while they are active.
Gluttony focuses on healing, life-drain, poison, and movement.
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Sanguine Feast | Restores health and grants Regeneration II, followed by Hunger II and Weakness I |
| Devour | Damages nearby living enemies, restores health if prey is found, and grants Absorption |
| Blood Miasma | Poisons, weakens, and slows nearby enemies while granting you Resistance I |
| Ravenous Momentum | Grants Speed II, Haste I, and Jump Boost II, followed by Hunger III and Weakness I |
Gluttony's healing comes with a strong hunger cost.
Black Plague becomes available when your killstreak reaches:
Open the Ability Hub and select Cast Black Plague. It targets the last player you attacked if that player is still in the same dimension. Otherwise, it targets the nearest other player in that dimension.
The target receives the following effects for 30 seconds:
Black Plague has a 20-second cooldown after casting.
Attacking another player with the Bloodlock Blade arms Last Chance. If you are later hurt while at two hearts or less, the blade can:
Activating Last Chance consumes 50 points of blade durability and starts a 20-minute cooldown.
Use the Obsidian Blood Crown to gain:
The crown has a 90-second cooldown.
If you are also holding the Bloodlock Blade, using the crown immediately refreshes the cooldowns of:
The crown can be worn as a helmet and is also checked from your inventory when activating Full Armor Resonance.
To activate Full Armor Resonance, you need:
Select Resonate Full Armor in the Ability Hub.
The resonance:
The full Blood Serpent set also grants passive effects while equipped:
Only kills made while wielding the Bloodlock Blade advance the streak. The final blow must be credited to you.
| Target | Streak points |
|---|---|
| Player | 1 |
| Elder Guardian | 1 |
| Warden | 2 |
| Wither | 2 |
| Ender Dragon | 3 |
Other creatures can still be useful for practicing combat, but they do not increase the streak.
Your killstreak resets when you die. While carrying the blade below 25 kills, its hunger can deal 1.5 damage about every 5 seconds when you are out of combat. Attacking or being attacked pauses this pressure, and reaching 25 kills removes it for the current streak.
| Kills | Title or reward |
|---|---|
| 1 | Awakening |
| 3 | Blood Sense: brief Regeneration I pulses |
| 5 | Feeding; Speed I |
| 8 | Haste I |
| 10 | Plague Marked; Black Plague becomes available |
| 12 | Fire Resistance |
| 16 | Jump Boost I |
| 20 | Ascended; ability cooldowns are reduced by 25% |
| 21 | Blood-Borne; Bleed becomes stronger and lasts longer |
| 25 | Water Breathing; the low-tier hunger ends and the full set gains Resistance |
| 30 | Night Vision; Black Plague becomes available again |
| 35 | Slow Falling |
| 40 | Blood Guard; Resistance pulses; Black Plague becomes available again |
| 45 | Sanguine Hunger; Absorption pulses |
| 50 | God Hunter; Regeneration I and God Hunter maintenance |
At 50 kills, God Hunter grants Regeneration I while you remain active. Continue killing or dealing blade damage at least once every 30 seconds to maintain the effect.
