Blood Lock Blade

Quickstart

1. Craft the Blood Lock Blade sword and the Obsidian Blood Crown Helmet using the recipes below.
2. Equip the sword in your hand and the helmet on your head.
3. Head out and start fighting — hitting enemies and racking up kills powers your gear.
4. Double right-click (two quick right-clicks within about half a second) while holding the blade to open the Ability Hub menu and check your progress and abilities.
5. Keep killing to build a killstreak — the higher it climbs, the deadlier and more supernatural your blade becomes.

Overview

Blood Lock Blade centers on a pair of cursed, blood-fueled artifacts: the Blood Lock Blade sword and the Obsidian Blood Crown Helmet, later joined by a matching set of Blood Serpent armor. These aren't ordinary gear — they respond to combat. Landing hits, drawing blood, and stacking up kills gradually "awakens" the blade, unlocking stronger effects, special strikes, and even near-death saves the more you use it in battle.

What It Adds

All of these items are epic-rarity, glowing (enchanted-look), and can be enchanted normally like other gear.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Blood Lock Blade is forged from powerful End and Nether materials:

The Obsidian Blood Crown Helmet is forged from bedrock, obsidian, and a wither rose:

The Blood Serpent armor set is not crafted from a recipe — it is earned through play by reaching high killstreaks with the Blood Lock Blade (see Progression below).

Abilities And Mechanics

Bleeding and Siphon — When you strike an enemy with the Blood Lock Blade, there's a chance to inflict a bleeding effect (lasting a few seconds) and to siphon health from your target back to yourself.

Slash Ability — A powerful special attack that costs a small sliver of your own health to unleash, but deals heavy burst damage to your target. It has its own cooldown before it can be used again.

Blood Lock Window — After landing a hit, you have a window of time to trigger the Blood Lock effect, granting a temporary combat buff. This has a separate, longer cooldown once used.

Last Chance — If you're brought to the brink of death (around 1.5 hearts or less) while wielding the blade, it can trigger a defensive save at the cost of some of its durability. This has a long cooldown, so it won't save you every time.

Ability Hub — Double right-clicking with the blade opens a menu showing your current abilities, cooldowns, and killstreak status.

Crown Ability — The Obsidian Blood Crown Helmet has its own activatable use tied to the set, complementing the blade's effects.

Progression And Strategy

The blade tracks your killstreak — how many kills you've landed in a row without losing your combat momentum. As your killstreak grows, the blade grows more dangerous:

• Reaching 20 kills ("Ascended") — Cooldowns on your abilities are cut in half, letting you use Slash and Blood Lock much more often.
• 21 kills ("Blood-Borne") — Your bleeding effects grow longer and more potent.
• Damage Maintenance — Once you're at 20+ streak, you must keep dealing meaningful blade damage regularly (roughly 3 hearts' worth within a short grace window). If you stop attacking and let the blade go idle, it will punish you with periodic health loss until you feed it more combat.
• Black Plague — At certain streak stages, your next successful hit on a player can infect them with a lingering plague effect. If the effect isn't used in time, it expires and goes on cooldown, potentially causing a Weakness effect as a fallback.
• God Hunter (50 kills, max streak) — The pinnacle of the blade's power. At this streak you gain a periodically refreshing Regeneration II buff for as long as you sustain it.

Losing your streak (through death, extended inactivity, or failing to maintain damage output) will reset these bonuses, so consistent, aggressive play is the key to keeping the blade's full power active. Building and holding a high killstreak is also the path toward unlocking and wearing the full Blood Serpent armor set.
