Blazethorn Arsenal

Quickstart

1. Gather Blaze Rods, Magma Cream, and Obsidian from the Nether.
2. Craft the Everflame Sword and any pieces of Fire Thorns armor at a crafting table.
3. Equip the armor and head into combat — you'll be immune to fire and lava, and anything that hits you will burn.
4. Strike enemies with the Everflame Sword to set them permanently ablaze.
5. Stay out of rain and water while wearing the armor — it damages you when wet.

Overview

Blazethorn Arsenal is a fire-themed gear pack that adds one powerful sword and a full set of reactive armor. Everything is built from Nether materials and designed for aggressive, fire-based combat. The armor keeps you safe from fire hazards while punishing attackers, and the sword ensures enemies stay burning long after the first hit. The trade-off is a meaningful weakness to water and rain.

Repairing

All Fire Thorns armor pieces can be repaired in an anvil using Blaze Rods or Magma Cream.

Abilities And Mechanics

Everflame Sword

• Deals 7 base damage with 850 durability — comparable to a diamond sword.
• Every hit permanently sets the target on fire (8 seconds of burning, refreshed on each hit). There is no way for the target to naturally extinguish this fire mid-combat.
• Can be enchanted in the sword enchantment category (enchantability 18).

Fire Thorns Armor

Passive fire resistance: While you have at least one Fire Thorns piece equipped, you receive a continuous Fire Resistance effect. This completely cancels damage from fire, flames, and lava.

Thorn retaliation: When an enemy hits you, they are:

• Set on fire for a duration scaled to how many armor pieces you're wearing (minimum 5 seconds, up to 8 seconds with a full set).
• Dealt direct fire damage equal to the number of armor pieces you have equipped (1–4 damage).

Wearing more pieces makes retaliation significantly stronger — a full four-piece set maximizes both the burn duration and the direct damage returned.

All pieces are enchantable (armor enchantment slots).

Progression And Strategy

Building Toward the Armor

Both the sword and the armor require Blaze Rods and Magma Cream, so your first goal should be reaching the Nether and farming Blaze spawners. The chestplate and leggings additionally require Obsidian, making them mid-to-late Nether tier items.

Using the Set Effectively

• Full set is strongest. Every additional armor piece increases thorn damage and burn duration. Aim to equip all four pieces for maximum retaliation.
• Commit to fire. With permanent Fire Resistance active, you can freely fight in lava lakes, burning environments, and fire-heavy areas like the Nether — spaces where enemies and players without fire protection cannot follow.
• Sword synergy. The Everflame Sword ensures enemies stay burning between hits, stacking with the thorns effect. Strike once, let fire do the work, then strike again.

The Water Weakness

The Fire Thorns armor has a significant drawback: rain and water harm you.

• If you are submerged in water or standing in rain with a clear sky above you, the armor deals damage to you every two seconds.
• The damage scales with how many armor pieces you're wearing — up to 2 damage per tick with a full set.
• Your action bar will display a warning message when this is happening.
• Remove the armor before swimming, fishing, or traveling in rainy weather. Keep a spare set of regular armor for wet situations.
• Being indoors or underground during rain protects you — the penalty only applies if rain can fall directly on you.
