Blackfire Rifle

Quickstart

1. Craft the Blackfire Rifle:

1. Place it in your main hand.
2. Aim by holding Right Click. The rifle uses a two-handed bow-style aiming pose.
3. Fire with Left Click. Each click launches a small fireball in the direction you are looking.
4. Press R to reload. The rifle must be in either your main hand or off-hand.

The rifle holds 30 shots. It is also available in the Combat section of the Creative inventory.

Overview

The Blackfire Rifle is a single-stack ranged weapon that launches visible fireballs. It combines a short firing delay with an internal 30-shot magazine, so keep track of your ammunition during combat and reload before the flames run dry.

How To Use

Aiming

Hold Right Click while holding the rifle to aim. This uses the vanilla two-handed bow pose and lets you line up your shot.

Firing

With the rifle in your main hand, press Left Click to fire. The fireball travels in the direction you are looking.

You can fire again after a brief delay of 5 game ticks, or about four shots per second. Firing consumes one round from the internal magazine.

Reloading

Press R while the rifle is in either hand to refill its magazine to 30 rounds. Reloading works whether the rifle is in your main hand or off-hand.

If the magazine is empty, attempting to fire produces a failure sound instead of launching a fireball. Reload before continuing to shoot.

The recipe is available in the recipe book automatically. In Creative mode, you can also take the rifle from the Combat inventory tab.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Each shot creates a small fireball with flame and smoke effects.
• The rifle starts with a full 30-round magazine when first fired or used.
• Ammunition is stored inside the individual rifle, so separate rifles can have different magazine counts.
• The rifle can be held in either hand for reloading.
• Firing requires the rifle to be in the main hand and not currently being aimed with Right Click.
• The rifle has a maximum stack size of one.

Progression And Strategy

Gather blaze powder before crafting if you plan to use the rifle in survival play. Carry the rifle with a full magazine, fire in controlled bursts, and reload during safe moments rather than waiting until you are under attack.

Use the aiming pose to line up distant targets, then fire from cover. Since the rifle has a short delay between shots, accurate fire is more effective than rapidly clicking and losing track of your remaining ammunition.
