Billy

Quickstart

1. Open your inventory's Spawn Eggs tab in Creative mode (or search "Billy" in the inventory search bar).
2. Grab the Billy spawn egg and use it on the ground to spawn Billy.
3. Keep your distance — Billy is fast and aggressive, and will immediately start chasing you.
4. If you'd rather encounter Billy naturally, explore the Overworld; Billy occasionally spawns on its own like a hostile mob.

Overview

Billy looks just like a friendly, adorable axolotl — but don't be fooled. Beneath that cute exterior is a relentless hunter that will chase you down with startling speed and hit hard when it catches you. Billy is a hostile creature that behaves nothing like the docile axolotls found in water, despite sharing their appearance (with an unsettling reddish tint).

What It Adds

• Billy — a hostile mob styled after an axolotl, but recolored with a sinister red hue and driven purely by aggression.
• Billy Spawn Egg — lets you spawn Billy directly wherever you like.

How To Use

• Use the Billy spawn egg on any block to summon Billy at that location.
• Once spawned, Billy will actively seek out and target nearby players, closing the distance quickly and attacking with melee strikes.
• Billy can also swim, so don't expect water to slow it down or offer safety.
• Defeating Billy rewards a modest amount of experience, similar to other small hostile mobs.

Crafting And Obtaining

Billy has no crafting recipes. The only way to obtain it is through its spawn egg, available in the Spawn Eggs section of the Creative inventory, or by finding one that has spawned naturally in the Overworld.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Speed — Billy moves noticeably faster than a typical hostile mob, making it hard to outrun.
• Aggression — Billy actively targets and pursues players on sight rather than waiting to be provoked.
• Amphibious combat — Billy swims well, so it can chase you through water just as effectively as on land.
• Durability — Billy has more health than a normal axolotl and hits harder, making it a genuine threat if you're caught off guard.
• Long detection range — Billy can notice and start chasing players from a fairly large distance.

Progression And Strategy

Treat Billy like a fast, hard-hitting ambush predator rather than a passive critter. Because it can appear in normal Overworld spawns, always be ready to fight or flee near open ground or water where it might lurk. Ranged attacks or terrain that slows down mobs (such as doorways or trapdoors) can help offset its speed advantage. Defeating Billy grants a small amount of experience, making it a worthwhile (if risky) encounter for early exploration.
