Barbed Batcraft

Quickstart

1. Start with a Wooden Baseball Bat. Collect oak planks and craft , then place it in your hotbar and left-click enemies. Bats are especially effective against zombies.
2. Set up a hazard. Craft and place the Barbed Wire on the ground. Entities that pass through it take damage and become slowed.
3. Try the launcher. Craft , hold it in your hand, and right-click to fire explosive gunpowder projectiles. Each shot consumes one durability point rather than gunpowder.
4. Make a Creeper Spawn Egg with . Right-click a block with it to spawn a creeper.
5. Use water gear near lava. Wearing any Water Bucket armor piece, or holding a Water Bucket tool in your main hand, automatically converts nearby lava into obsidian or cobblestone.
6. Use milk supplies for emergencies. Right-click a Milk Bottle or Milk Carton to clear all of your status effects.

Overview

Barbed Batcraft adds improvised armor, unusual tools, explosive weapons, baseball bats, consumables, Creeper equipment, and damaging Barbed Wire. Most items are available in the Creative inventory, while the recipes below provide several survival crafting paths.

What It Adds

Utility and Survival Items

• Chainmail Sheet — a material for chainmail equipment.
• Milk Bottle — clears all status effects when used.
• Milk Carton — also clears all status effects when used.
• Water Carton — a crafted water-themed item with no special use effect.
• Cooked Rotten Flesh — food made by smelting rotten flesh.
• Creeper Spawn Egg — spawns a creeper when used.
• Gunpowder Launcher — fires explosive projectiles.
• Barbed Wire — a placeable damaging hazard.

Armor Sets

The mod includes complete armor sets made from:

• Wood
• Stone
• Gunpowder
• Creeper Eggs
• Water Buckets
• Gunpowder Launchers

Each material has its own protection, durability, toughness, and repair material. The launcher armor is the strongest of the custom sets.

Tool Sets

Each of the following materials has a sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, and hoe:

• Chainmail
• Gunpowder
• Creeper Egg
• Water Bucket
• Launcher

The Water Bucket and Launcher tool sets have mining level 3. The other custom tool sets have mining level 2.

How To Use

Baseball Bats

Equip a bat and attack normally. Every bat deals additional damage when striking a zombie:

• Standard bats deal an additional 10 damage to zombies.
• Barbed Wooden, Nailed Wooden, and Barbed Iron Baseball Bats deal an additional 12 damage to zombies.

The bats have different durability values, with Diamond and Netherite bats lasting the longest.

Gunpowder Launcher

Hold the Gunpowder Launcher and right-click to fire. The projectile travels in the direction you are aiming and creates a small explosion when it hits an entity or block.

• Maximum durability: 96
• One durability point is used per shot.
• No separate gunpowder ammunition is consumed.
• Keep your distance from the impact point.

Barbed Wire

Place Barbed Wire like a normal block. It has no solid collision, allowing entities to pass through it, but touching it causes:

• 2 damage approximately every half-second.
• Slowness II for 1.5 seconds.

Use it in doorways, tunnels, around valuable areas, or anywhere you want to slow hostile mobs. Barbed Wire affects living entities, including players.

Milk Items

Right-click a Milk Bottle or Milk Carton to remove every active status effect. These items are not food and are not consumed when used, so they can be used repeatedly from the same stack.

Cooked Rotten Flesh

Cooked Rotten Flesh is edible and restores 4 hunger points with a saturation modifier of 0.4. It is made by smelting Rotten Flesh.

Creeper Spawn Egg

Use the Creeper Spawn Egg on a block to spawn a creeper. Treat it like a normal spawn egg and leave room for the creeper to appear.

Water Gear and Lava Conversion

Water Bucket armor and tools provide a passive environmental effect:

• Wearing at least one piece of Water Bucket armor activates the effect.
• Holding a Water Bucket Sword, Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, or Hoe in your main hand also activates it.
• Nearby still lava becomes obsidian.
• Nearby flowing lava becomes cobblestone.

The conversion occurs in the area immediately around you, making Water Bucket gear useful for crossing or securing lava-filled locations.

Custom Tools

The custom swords, pickaxes, axes, shovels, and hoes function as their named vanilla tool types. Their material determines their mining speed, durability, mining level, and repair ingredient.

Crafting And Obtaining

Use a crafting table for the shaped and shapeless recipes. The Cooked Rotten Flesh recipe uses a furnace or another compatible cooking block.

Utility Items and Bats

The Leather, Stone, Chainmail, Iron, Diamond, Netherite, Gunpowder, and Barbed Iron Baseball Bats can be selected directly from the Creative inventory when no recipe is available for the desired variant.

The custom armor recipes below produce helmets. The matching chestplates, leggings, and boots are also available as items in Creative.

Material Progression

The custom tool families can be repaired with their matching materials:

Bat Durability

Progression And Strategy

1. Begin with wood. Craft a Wooden Baseball Bat and Wood armor, then use the bat against zombies.
2. Collect iron nuggets. Turn them into Chainmail Sheets for chainmail armor and Chainmail tools.
3. Build defenses. Craft Barbed Wire and place it in narrow entrances where mobs will be forced to pass through it.
4. Advance into explosives. Gather Gunpowder for Gunpowder tools, armor, the Creeper Spawn Egg, and the Gunpowder Launcher.
5. Use Creeper equipment carefully. Creeper Egg tools and armor are durable upgrades, while the Spawn Egg is useful for controlled creeper encounters.
6. Bring Water Bucket gear to lava areas. Even a single armor piece or a Water Bucket tool in your main hand can turn nearby lava into safer blocks.
7. Save the launcher for dangerous targets. Its projectiles explode on impact, but the launcher has limited durability.
8. Carry milk supplies for debuffs. Milk Bottles and Milk Cartons provide a reusable way to remove harmful status effects.
