Description
A massive azure wolf stalks plains and the Nether, guarding five diamonds for those brave enough to slay it.
Mod Wiki
Azure Titan Hound
Quickstart
- Open your Creative inventory and search for the Azure Titan Hound spawn egg, or find one already stalking the Plains or the Nether.
- Use the spawn egg to summon the beast, or simply explore Plains biomes and the Nether until one finds you.
- Approach with caution — this is not a friendly wolf. Bring strong weapons, armor, and healing items before engaging.
- Defeat it to collect its guarded treasure of diamonds.
Overview
The Azure Titan Hound is a towering, hostile variant of the ordinary wolf, wrapped in deep blue fur and radiating menace. Unlike the tame wolves found in villages, this creature is a dangerous predator that actively hunts players wherever it roams. Rumor has it that each hound jealously guards a hoard of diamonds, dropping them only when finally defeated.
What It Adds
- Azure Titan Hound — a massive hostile mob, roughly twice the size of a normal wolf, found prowling Plains biomes and the Nether.
- Azure Titan Hound Spawn Egg — a Creative-mode item used to summon the hound directly.
How To Use
- Encountering it: The hound spawns naturally in Plains biomes and throughout the Nether, appearing among other hostile mobs in those areas.
- Spawning it manually: Use the spawn egg on any block to place an Azure Titan Hound at that location. This is the easiest way to fight one on your own terms.
- Combat: The hound will actively target and chase players on sight, closing in quickly and swimming across water without hesitation. It hits hard and shrugs off knockback, so expect a prolonged, punishing fight rather than a quick skirmish.
- Rewards: Upon death, the hound always drops diamonds in addition to any normal loot, making it a lucrative — if risky — target.
Crafting And Obtaining
This mod adds no craftable items or blocks. The only way to obtain the Azure Titan Hound is by:
- Encountering one naturally while exploring the Plains or the Nether, or
- Using its spawn egg from the Creative inventory (found under the Spawn Eggs tab).
Abilities And Mechanics
- Massive health pool: The hound is far tougher than any vanilla mob, able to survive an extraordinary amount of punishment before falling.
- High damage output: Its bite hits significantly harder than a normal wolf's attack.
- Knockback resistance: It barely flinches when struck, making it difficult to stagger or push away.
- Aggressive AI: It actively hunts nearby players, swims to reach them across water, and will not stop pursuing once it has a target.
- Guaranteed diamond drop: Every hound drops five diamonds when killed, on top of any other loot.
Progression And Strategy
Treat the Azure Titan Hound as a high-risk, high-reward boss-like encounter rather than a routine monster fight. Its enormous health and damage mean solo fights can be long and dangerous — come prepared with strong armor, healing potions or food, and a way to retreat if the fight turns against you. Ranged attacks and hit-and-run tactics can help whittle down its health while avoiding its powerful bite. The guaranteed diamond drop makes hunting these hounds a worthwhile early source of diamonds for players willing to take the risk.
