Quickstart

1. In Creative mode, search for Blueberry Sniffer Spawn Egg and Blue Trader Spawn Egg.
2. Spawn an adult Blueberry Sniffer and keep it on natural ground such as dirt, grass, podzol, moss, or mud.
3. Wait for the sniffer to search and dig. Collect the Blueberries it uncovers.
4. Find or spawn a Blue Trader, interact with it, and exchange 1 emerald for 1 Blueberry.
5. Eat Blueberries when your hunger bar is not full.

You can also summon the mobs directly:

/summon com_azure_berry_6amn74zm:blueberry_sniffer
/summon com_azure_berry_6amn74zm:blue_trader

To give yourself a Blueberry:

Overview

Azure Berry adds a new food item, a blueberry-hunting sniffer, and an emerald trader. Use the Blueberry Sniffer to find a renewable supply, or craft and purchase Blueberries directly.

What It Adds

How To Use

Blueberries

Hold a Blueberry and use it to eat. Each one restores 2 hunger points and provides modest saturation. Blueberries use the normal eating animation and cannot be eaten while your hunger bar is full.

Blueberries stack up to 64 and do not grant additional status effects.

Blueberry Sniffer

The Blueberry Sniffer behaves like a large, passive sniffer:

• Adult sniffers periodically search for a suitable location.
• They can search within a broad area around themselves.
• After finding a valid spot, they dig for several seconds.
• A successful dig produces 1–2 Blueberries.
• Torchflower Seeds attract, heal, breed, and help raise Blueberry Sniffers.
• Two adult Blueberry Sniffers can breed when fed Torchflower Seeds.
• Babies can also be fed Torchflower Seeds while growing.

Keep a sniffer near ground it can search, including:

• Dirt
• Coarse Dirt
• Grass
• Podzol
• Dirt With Roots
• Moss Blocks
• Pale Moss Blocks
• Mud
• Muddy Mangrove Roots

A Blueberry Sniffer has 14 health points. If one dies, it drops 1–3 Blueberries; Looting can increase the drop by up to 1.

Blue Trader

Interact with the Blue Trader to open its trading screen. Its available exchange is:

The offer has up to 16 uses before it needs to resupply. Blue Traders follow a villager-style work schedule and can refresh their trade stock while working.

Blueberries can be crafted using Sweet Berries and Blue Dye:

Finding Blueberries

Adult Blueberry Sniffers are the main renewable source. Place one in an open area with suitable ground and wait for it to sniff, search, and dig.

Blue Traders can also appear in villages. They spawn outdoors on grass blocks, sand, snow, or podzol in bright conditions, usually in groups of one or two.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Blueberry Sniffers are persistent passive mobs.
• They avoid water and can walk over water, but they search on the eligible ground listed above.
• Torchflower Seeds make a useful lure when moving or managing them.
• Blueberry Sniffers can be leashed and named.
• Adult sniffers periodically enter a sniffing state before searching.
• Blue Traders use a trade window rather than dropping items when interacted with.

Progression And Strategy

1. Start with crafting: Combine Sweet Berries and Blue Dye to obtain your first Blueberries.
2. Set up a sniffer area: Fence in one or more Blueberry Sniffers over suitable ground.
3. Keep Torchflower Seeds nearby: Use them to attract, heal, and breed the sniffers.
4. Collect the digging drops: Give the sniffer room to search so it can repeatedly produce Blueberries.
5. Build an emerald supply: A Blue Trader provides another way to obtain Blueberries, with one emerald required per trade.
6. Protect your source: Keep sniffers away from lava and dangerous terrain, and provide enough searchable ground for reliable digging.
