Aegis Command Edge

Quickstart

1. Craft the Aegis Command Edge at a crafting table (recipe below) or find it in the Combat creative tab.
2. Hold it in your main hand or offhand — you immediately gain permanent Night Vision.
3. Look at a mob and right-click to fire a Tactical Laser Ping and deal quick ranged damage.
4. When you need to chase something down, sneak + right-click for a speed burst.
5. For a big group of mobs, sprint + right-click to call down an Orbital Strike.

Overview

The Aegis Command Edge is a single, powerful Netherite-tier sword that combines close-quarters melee with three independent tactical abilities. It is designed around constant battlefield awareness — you always see in the dark, and every enemy you touch is marked through walls. Each ability has its own cooldown, so all three can be used in sequence without waiting for a single shared timer.

Abilities And Mechanics

Passive: Night Vision

While the sword is held in either hand, you permanently have Night Vision. The effect is continuously refreshed so it never expires as long as you are holding the sword.

Passive: Glowing on Hit

Any mob you strike with a melee attack is marked with the Glowing effect for 3 seconds. Glowing makes the mob visible through solid blocks, so you can track fleeing or hiding targets without losing sight of them.

Active Ability 1 — Tactical Laser Ping

Trigger: Right-click (no modifiers) Cooldown: 8 seconds

Fires a 30-block beam from your eye position in the direction you are looking. The first mob the beam hits takes 4 hearts of damage and is marked with the Glowing effect for 5 seconds. Useful for dealing quick chip damage and tagging a priority target before closing in.

Active Ability 2 — Kinetic Beacon

Trigger: Sneak + Right-click Cooldown: 15 seconds

Activates a tactical field around you that simultaneously grants you a 40% speed boost and applies a Slowness effect to all nearby mobs for 4 seconds. Use it to kite enemies, disengage from a bad fight, or reposition before launching an Orbital Strike.

Active Ability 3 — Orbital Strike Protocol

Trigger: Sprint + Right-click Cooldown: 75 seconds

Targets the block or surface you are looking at, up to 60 blocks away. After a 2-second warning delay, a devastating pillar of energy crashes down at that location, dealing 15 hearts of damage to all mobs in the blast area and destroying breakable blocks nearby. Because of the delay, aim at a spot where enemies are likely to remain — or use Kinetic Beacon first to slow them in place before calling the strike.

Progression And Strategy

• Early engagement: Open with Tactical Laser Ping to tag and damage a target, then close in for melee. Glowing from both passives and the ping overlaps, giving you extended tracking time.
• Crowd control combo: Sneak + right-click (Kinetic Beacon) to slow a group, then immediately sprint + right-click (Orbital Strike Protocol) while still in range. The slowed mobs are unlikely to escape the blast zone in 2 seconds.
• Cooldown rotation: Laser Ping recharges fastest (8 s), so use it as your default ranged poke. Save Kinetic Beacon (15 s) for escapes or setups. Reserve Orbital Strike (75 s) for large groups or high-value targets.
• Crafting cost: The sword requires an End Crystal and a Netherite Ingot as its core components, placing it firmly in late-game progression — plan to craft it after reaching The End.
