Quickstart

1. Craft the Abyssal Remnant using a Netherite Sword surrounded by Ender Pearls and Obsidian:

1. Hold it in either hand — you immediately gain passive Resistance I and any Blindness on you is automatically cleared.
2. Right-click to fire your first ability, Void Torrent, and blast nearby enemies with a void beam.
3. Once comfortable, experiment with Sneak + Right-click (Void Step dash) and Sneak while airborne + Right-click (Event Horizon shockwave).

Overview

The Abyssal Remnant is a void-forged sword matching Netherite in base combat stats. Beyond raw melee power, it comes packed with three active abilities — each with its own cooldown, visual effect, and sound cue — making it a versatile weapon for both offense and mobility. All abilities are fully synced in multiplayer.

Abilities And Mechanics

Passive: Void Presence

While the Abyssal Remnant is held in either hand:

• Grants Resistance I continuously.
• Automatically removes Blindness the moment it is applied.

Void Torrent — Right-click

Cooldown: 2 seconds

Fires a 15-block beam straight ahead. Enemies caught in the beam take damage and are knocked back. Visually, a bright beam with a spiraling void-flame helix erupts from your position, ending in an impact burst.

Void Step — Sneak + Right-click

Cooldown: 5 seconds

Dashes you 8 blocks forward. During the dash you are briefly invisible and invulnerable. Any enemies you pass through receive Blindness and Wither. A dense trail of portal shimmer, smoke, and soul-flame marks your path.

Event Horizon — Sneak while airborne + Right-click

Cooldown: 15 seconds

Unleashes a 20-block shockwave centered on you. Enemies caught in the radius are levitated upward, then come crashing down for massive fall damage. The effect is accompanied by layered shockwave rings and a rising singularity column for dramatic visual feedback.

Progression And Strategy

• Early use: Void Torrent's short cooldown (2 s) makes it reliable for keeping mobs at bay or finishing fleeing targets.
• Mobility: Void Step is an excellent escape or gap-closer. The brief invulnerability window means you can dash through a crowd, inflict Blindness and Wither on everything you touch, and reposition safely.
• Boss encounters: Save Event Horizon for tightly packed groups or high-health enemies. Launching a boss into the air and letting fall damage do the work can dramatically shorten fights.
• Cooldown awareness: With Void Torrent ready every 2 s, Void Step every 5 s, and Event Horizon every 15 s, a good rhythm is to open with Event Horizon, follow with a Void Step through survivors, then spam Void Torrent to clean up stragglers.
• Passive synergy: Resistance I reduces all incoming damage, and auto-clearing Blindness means cave ambushes or Warden encounters are far less punishing — keep the sword in your off-hand even when using other weapons to maintain both passive benefits.
