Overview
Wornstone Wilds makes the landscape feel weathered and lived-in. Forest details, changing ground, restorative springs, and a dangerous volcanic cave region give you new things to discover as you travel.
What It Adds
| Discovery | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Forest details | Coarse-dirt and gravel patches, large boulders, moss, tree stumps, and loose-rock clusters. |
| Cold-region springs | Natural pools lined with Hot Spring Stone. |
| Emberdeep caves | Some dripstone-cave areas become hot, lava-filled caverns around Y 40, with volcanic basalt and glowing Ember Rock. |
| Changing terrain | Repeated foot traffic wears down some surfaces; rain and flowing water can also shift or wash away natural ground. |
| Seasonal wildlife and events | Migratory Bird flocks, village festivities, and small graveyards near some villages. |
How To Use
Throwing Rocks
Use a Throwing Rock to launch it in the direction you are aiming. Hits deal modest damage and knock targets back. You can also collect rocks by breaking Loose Rocks clusters, which drop one or two.
Hot Springs
Enter the spring water and stay close to the water above Hot Spring Stone to receive Regeneration. The effect refreshes while you remain in the spring; simply standing nearby is not enough.
The Calendar
The date appears on your screen during play. Use the Wilds Calendar to view the current day, season, month, and the next two holidays. Its year has 12 months of eight days each.
| Holiday | Date | Celebration |
|---|---|---|
| First Blossom | Bloomtide 2 | Village decorations and a bread gift |
| Greenwake Gathering | Greenwake 6 | Village decorations |
| Midsummer Lights | Highsun 7 | Fireworks |
| Harvest Festival | Goldfall 6 | Village decorations and a bread gift |
| Leafturn Fair | Leafturn 3 | Villager trades refund one emerald per three emeralds spent |
| Lantern Night | Emberwane 7 | Village decorations and fireworks |
| Midwinter Feast | Frostwane 8 | Village decorations and a bread gift |
| Thawtide Dawn | Thawmoon 4 | Village decorations and emerald trade refunds |
Migratory Bird flocks are especially worth watching for in spring and autumn. You can try to tame a bird by feeding it seeds.
Some villages develop small graveyards. Interact with a gravestone to read the name and year on its inscription.
Crafting And Obtaining
Throwing Rocks and the Wilds Calendar can be crafted using the recipes shown in Quickstart. Loose Rocks clusters are another source of Throwing Rocks. Forest boulders and spring pools also contain blocks such as Mossy Boulder Stone and Hot Spring Stone; volcanic caves feature Volcanic Basalt and Ember Rock.
Abilities And Mechanics
Repeatedly walking over a spot wears its surface down over time. Grass can become a path and then coarse dirt; sand can wear into gravel and stone; snow can become packed ice, while snow layers can disappear. Rain and flowing water also gradually reshape natural slopes, moving or washing away loose ground.
Progression And Strategy
Explore forests, cold regions, and caves to find the mod’s natural features. Carry Throwing Rocks for a quick ranged attack, use cold-biome springs to recover with Regeneration, and check the calendar to plan around seasonal events. Treat Emberdeep’s lava pools as hazards while exploring its volcanic stone.
