As days accumulate, new permanent rule changes stack on top of each other and disasters strike with increasing frequency and ferocity. There is no ceiling — the longer you survive, the worse things get.
Each phase unlocks at a specific day and persists for the rest of the game. Phases stack — later phases add to earlier ones, they do not replace them.

Four types of catastrophes strike near players on a timer. Frequency and severity scale with the day count:
During the night (and permanently from Day 10 onward), purge waves spawn mobs near every player. Passive mobs — villagers, wandering traders, farm animals, pets, and more — are also turned hostile during purges. From Day 20, purge waves include the most dangerous mobs: ravagers, pillagers, vindicators, and more.

Day 7 — Boiling Seas Any open water near a player periodically converts to lava blocks. Rivers, oceans, and lakes become impassable fire hazards. Relocate away from water sources before Day 7 if possible.
Day 8 — Rest Denied Attempting to interact with any bed summons a TNT explosion at that location. Beds can no longer be used to sleep or set spawn. Destroy your beds before Day 8 and find alternative spawn-point strategies.
Day 10 — Perpetual Darkness The sun no longer rises. All players receive a permanent Darkness effect (with Night Vision to compensate for navigation). Purge waves now run around the clock — there is no safe daytime.
Day 20 — World Chaos All disaster timers accelerate dramatically. Purge mob pools upgrade to include the most dangerous enemies in the game. This is the final, sustained crisis state.
The mod uses a chaosScale multiplier tied to the current day. The higher the day, the shorter the intervals between disasters and purge waves. By Day 20 and beyond, catastrophes overlap almost continuously.
Players receive a looping Darkness effect and Night Vision simultaneously — you can see, but the oppressive atmosphere remains. This cannot be removed by drinking milk or other means while the mod is active.
From Day 8, right-clicking any bed instantly cancels the sleep action and spawns a TNT block above the bed, triggering a large explosion. The bed block itself is also destroyed. This applies to all bed colors.
Every 8 seconds, a scan converts water blocks near each player into lava. This is irreversible — lava placed this way behaves like normal lava. Avoid building near or over water after Day 6.
