The Overlord spawns alone on the surface at night. It emits Darkness in a 20-block radius, so bring Night Vision potions or a torch setup. Its sonic boom has a 15-block horizontal and 20-block vertical range, so height advantage does little good. The boss has full knockback resistance — ranged weapons, the Storm Bow, or the Wither Dragon Cleaver are your best tools. Keep an eye on the action bar: as virtual HP drops below 75 %, 50 %, and 25 %, it enters phases 2, 3, and 4, becoming more dangerous. Vanilla health resets automatically between hits, so the only reliable progress measure is the virtual HP shown in the HUD.
The Master Wither Boss is a large (1.8× scale) warden-class mob that patrols the surface at night. It roars, digs underground temporarily, and launches a sonic boom. It continuously radiates negative effects including Darkness on anything within 20 blocks. It also summons standard Wither minions, so clear adds quickly. Prioritize staying mobile and protecting your armor durability.
Build the soul-sand cross structure anywhere in the overworld:
The Storm spawns 5 blocks above the structure. It flies freely, has no gravity, and will begin consuming nearby blocks (bedrock is immune). It pulls players toward it with a tractor beam and fires skulls. Because it progresses through four phases tied to virtual HP thresholds, defeating it is a sustained campaign — expect your surrounding terrain to be significantly altered by the time it falls.
None of the mod's exclusive items are craftable from scratch — they are all obtained exclusively as boss drops. There are no player crafting recipes.
| Item | Source |
|---|---|
| Witherstorm Core | Wither Dragon Overlord (guaranteed 1), Wither Storm (guaranteed 1) |
| Wither Dragon Cleaver | Wither Dragon Overlord (chance), Wither Storm (chance) |
| Storm Bow | Wither Dragon Overlord (chance), Wither Storm (chance) |
| Storm Feast | Wither Storm (common chance, 2 rolls) |
| Overlord Helmet / Chestplate / Leggings / Boots | Master Wither Boss (one random piece, chance) |
In addition to unique items, bosses drop substantial vanilla materials:
All three bosses display a real-time status in the action bar showing their name, current virtual HP (in a compact shorthand like "1.5T"), and current phase (P1–P4). Phase changes at 75 %, 50 %, and 25 % virtual HP.
Each boss has four phases. Lower phases mean more aggressive behavior. Visually you can track the phase from the action-bar HUD at all times.
The Wither Storm actively destroys blocks around it as it moves. Only bedrock is completely safe. Build your battle arena accordingly — do not fight near your base or important structures.
Both the Wither Dragon Overlord and the Master Wither Boss project Darkness on all players within 20 blocks. This makes direct melee combat extremely hazardous without visual aid.
The Wither Storm can pull players toward itself. Create distance frequently and use ranged attacks where possible.
