Overview
The Warden Sky Scythe is a legendary, enchant-glowing weapon that lets you call forth friendly Wardens as combat allies. Instead of fearing the deep dark's most fearsome creature, you command it. Each use summons a Warden directly in front of you, announced by a dramatic lightning strike. You can have up to three Wardens active at once, making this scythe the centrepiece of an overwhelmingly powerful combat strategy.
What It Adds
| Item | Rarity | Damage | Durability |
|---|
| Warden Sky Scythe | Epic (enchantment glint) | 9 | 2,031 |
- A single legendary weapon found in the Equipment tab of the creative inventory.
- Summons friendly Wardens that fight on your behalf.
How To Use
Summoning a Warden
Hold the Warden Sky Scythe and press the Use button. A friendly Warden spawns a few blocks in front of you. A chat message confirms how many Wardens you currently have active (e.g. 1/3 Wardens active).
Warden lifetime
Each summoned Warden fights for roughly 30 seconds before despawning with a sonic boom particle effect and the message "A Warden has returned to the deep…"
Cooldown
After each summon there is a 30-second cooldown before you can summon again. If you try too early, the scythe tells you how many seconds remain.
Warden cap
You can have a maximum of 3 friendly Wardens active at the same time. Attempting to summon a fourth will display a warning message instead.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Warden Sky Scythe is crafted at a standard Crafting Table using deep-dark and Nether materials:
To repair the scythe, combine it with Echo Shards in an anvil. Each Echo Shard restores a significant portion of its durability.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Melee weapon — deals 9 damage per hit and counts as a sword for enchantments (Sharpness, Looting, etc.).
- Enchantable — use an enchanting table or anvil to apply sword enchantments. The scythe has an enchantability of 15.
- Summon on use — pressing Use triggers a Warden spawn ~3 blocks ahead of you in your current dimension, accompanied by a lightning bolt.
- Friendly Wardens — summoned Wardens are tagged as allies and will not target you. Their buffs are refreshed every second to keep them resilient.
- Indestructible in Creative — the scythe cannot break blocks in Creative mode.
- Movement slowdown while using — holding the Use button applies a movement modifier, similar to charging a trident.
Progression And Strategy
- Early priority: Echo Shards require deep dark exploration and defeating the Warden naturally, making this a mid-to-late-game weapon. Blaze Rods come from the Nether, and Sculk Catalysts drop from Wardens.
- Triple Warden wall: Use the scythe three times (with cooldown gaps) to build a squad of three Wardens before engaging a boss or raid. Their combined sonic attacks obliterate most threats.
- Cooldown cycling: The 30-second summon cooldown and 30-second Warden lifetime nearly align — time your summons so a fresh Warden appears just as the previous one despawns, maintaining near-constant ally coverage.
- Enchant for longevity: Apply Unbreaking and Mending to stretch the 2,031-durability pool and avoid frequent Echo Shard repairs.
- Dimension use: Friendly Wardens work in any dimension, making this scythe powerful in the Nether and the End as well as the Overworld.
