Quickstart

1. Craft the Warden Graspblade using a smithing table (see below).
2. Right-click (use item) while aiming at a block or enemy to fire a grapple.
3. Get pulled toward wherever it lands, then swing your sword before touching the ground for a guaranteed critical hit.

Overview

The Warden Graspblade is a single, powerful sword that lets you grapple across the battlefield and follow up with a critical strike every time. It combines diamond-sword sharpness with the eerie sound and sculk particles of the Warden, letting you close distance on enemies or traverse terrain, then punish whatever you land near.

What It Adds

• Warden Graspblade – a netherite-tier sword that fires a grapple projectile and always lands critical hits while wielded.
• Grapple Hook – an invisible thrown projectile fired from the sword, trailing Sculk Soul particles, that yanks the player toward its impact point with a burst of sound and particles.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Warden Graspblade is made at a smithing table using a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template, a Diamond Sword, and a Sculk Catalyst.

The recipe unlocks automatically as soon as you join the world, so it's available from the very start.

How To Use

• Equip it in your main hand like a normal sword.
• Use item (right-click) to fire the grapple in the direction you're looking. It travels quickly and is unaffected by gravity drift in a normal sense — it flies straight until it hits something.
• On impact (block or entity), you're yanked toward the impact point at a speed that scales with distance (faster pulls for farther targets, capped so you don't get flung uncontrollably). The grapple entity itself is then destroyed.
• Expect a Sonic Boom particle burst, swirling Sculk Soul particles, cracking critical hit sparkles, and a low warden-style roar plus sonic boom sound at the landing spot — both a visual and audio cue that the pull has triggered.
• Attack with the sword as normal. While holding the Warden Graspblade, every hit registers as a fully charged critical strike, regardless of how long you've held back or whether you're airborne — no waiting for the attack cooldown to fill.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Guaranteed Critical Hits: Normally, critical hits require jumping or falling with a fully charged swing. The Warden Graspblade removes that requirement entirely — every attack you land with it counts as a critical hit, dealing bonus damage.
• Grapple Traversal: The thrown grapple can hit either terrain or entities. Hitting a wall or ledge lets you pull yourself up or across gaps. Hitting an enemy yanks you straight to their position, letting you close in for an immediate strike.
• Single-Use Item: The Warden Graspblade stacks to only one per inventory slot, keeping it a dedicated tool rather than a stockpile item.
• Mining: It can also be used to mine pickaxe-appropriate blocks, functioning as a sword-pickaxe hybrid in a pinch.

Progression And Strategy

Use the grapple defensively to escape dangerous situations by pulling yourself toward safe terrain, or offensively by grappling straight into an enemy and immediately following up with a critical strike combo. Because every hit crits while the blade is equipped, it rewards aggressive, mobile play — grapple in, strike hard, and reposition again before the fight settles.
