Description:
Voidstorm Twin Maces add a pair of purple-and-black dual maces that never miss: whenever you land a hit the maces slam every player and mob within 6 blocks, making them a brutal close-range crowd-control weapon. Right-click (use) toggles Light and Heavy modes — Light launches you upward and gives a windburst that also knocks nearby targets into the air while dealing moderate damage, while Heavy unleashes a dense storm that hits all valid targets for 15 damage each. The maces are craftable (netherite ingots + eye of ender + obsidian + stick), show mode and hit results on the action bar, play particles and sounds, and use a short cooldown so you can’t spam the AoE endlessly.

Voidstorm Twin Maces
Quickstart
- Gather netherite ingots, an eye of ender, obsidian, and a stick, then craft the Voidstorm Twin Maces at a crafting table (recipe below).
- Hold the maces in your main hand — your action bar will show the current mode.
- Walk into a group of mobs and hit any one of them. Every mob and player within 6 blocks is instantly struck as well.
- Right-click (Use) the maces to toggle between Light and Heavy mode and feel the difference.
Overview
The Voidstorm Twin Maces are a purple-and-black dual-mace weapon built for devastating close-range crowd control. A single hit automatically ripples outward to slam everything nearby, and two combat modes let you choose between an aerial windburst or a raw heavy storm blast.
What It Adds
| Item | Description |
|---|
| Voidstorm Twin Maces | A hand-equipped melee weapon with 4096 durability, base 8 damage, and an automatic area-of-effect on every hit. Enchantable like a sword. |
Abilities And Mechanics
Automatic Area Hit
Every time you land a melee hit while holding the maces, all entities within 6 blocks (except yourself) are also hit. This happens on every successful attack, subject to a brief cooldown that prevents the effect from firing continuously during rapid swings.
Light Mode (default)
- AoE damage: 8 per target
- Target knockback: Nearby targets are knocked into the air.
- Self-launch: You are launched upward with a strong upward burst — great for repositioning.
- Visual/Sound: Wind explosion particle + breeze wind-burst sound.
- Your action bar reads: Twin Maces Mode: LIGHT (Windburst)
Heavy Mode
- AoE damage: 15 per target — nearly double Light Mode.
- No self-launch — you stay grounded for sustained fighting.
- Visual/Sound: Large explosion particle + deep warden sonic-boom sound.
- Your action bar reads: Twin Maces Mode: HEAVY (Density 15)
Toggling Modes
Right-click (Use) while holding the maces to switch modes. An orb sound confirms switching to Light; an anvil sound confirms switching to Heavy. The action bar immediately displays the new mode and a count of how many targets were hit.
Cooldown
A short cooldown (a fraction of a second) is enforced between AoE pulses so the effect cannot be triggered at an extreme rate. Normal melee swings are unaffected.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft at a crafting table. The recipe unlocks automatically once you have a netherite ingot, eye of ender, or obsidian in your inventory.
Progression And Strategy
- Early crowd control: The maces shine when enemies cluster together. Pull mobs into a tight group before attacking to maximise the AoE.
- Light Mode mobility: Use Light Mode when you need to escape a fight or reach high ground — the self-launch can clear walls and cliffs mid-combat.
- Heavy Mode burst: Switch to Heavy when you want raw kill power on a packed group. 15 damage per target with a large explosion effect makes short work of mob farms or PvP skirmishes.
- Enchanting: The maces accept sword enchantments (Sharpness, Looting, Unbreaking, etc.), letting you push their power even further.
- Durability management: With 4096 durability the maces last a long time, but the damage-chance on each use means Unbreaking is worth considering for extended use.
