Voidstorm Greatsword

Quickstart

1. Gather crying obsidian, amethyst shards, and a lightning rod.
2. Craft the greatsword at a crafting table:

1. Equip the Voidstorm Greatsword in your main hand.
2. Aim forward and press the Use button to unleash a short-range lightning beam.
3. Wait about 1 second before using the ability again.

You can also obtain it from the Creative inventory under Equipment, or use:

Overview

The Voidstorm Greatsword is a powerful melee weapon with a forward-firing dark matter lightning ability. Using it creates a line of lightning strikes accompanied by a dragon-breath-like trail effect.

How To Use

Hold the greatsword and press the Use button while looking in the direction you want to attack.

The ability projects lightning forward from your position, with strikes appearing at several points up to roughly 12 blocks away. Your view direction determines the beam’s horizontal and vertical aim, so look upward or downward to angle the attack.

The attack has a short cooldown. Pressing Use again before the cooldown ends does not trigger another beam.

The greatsword can also be used as a normal melee weapon.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Voidstorm Greatsword at a crafting table using:

• Crying obsidian
• Amethyst shards
• A lightning rod

The recipe becomes available after obtaining one of its ingredients. In Creative mode, search the Equipment category or use the item command from the Quickstart section.

Abilities And Mechanics

Dark Matter Lightning

When activated, the greatsword sends a short, forward-moving beam of lightning. Lightning bolts appear at six positions along its path, while a dragon-breath trail marks the attack.

The beam follows the direction you are looking and can be aimed across uneven terrain or vertically.

Cooldown

The lightning ability can be activated once approximately every second. The cooldown applies to the special attack, allowing the sword to remain useful as a melee weapon between blasts.

Durability And Enchanting

The Voidstorm Greatsword has 1,250 durability and uses the sword enchantment category. Keep an eye on its durability during extended combat.

Progression And Strategy

• Use the lightning beam to open an encounter before closing in with melee attacks.
• Aim along corridors, bridges, or lines of enemies to make the most of the beam’s forward spread.
• Aim slightly downward when attacking targets on nearby ground.
• Keep moving after firing, since the ability has a brief cooldown.
• Bring a replacement or plan for repairs during long adventures because the greatsword has finite durability.
