Mod Wiki
Void Beetroot
Quickstart
- Find the Black Atmosphere biome — a dark, end-themed overworld biome with Void Loam soil, Void Shale rock, and Void Bloom flowers.
- Mine Void Loam (shovel) and Void Shale (pickaxe) from the biome, and collect Void Bloom flowers by breaking them.
- Combine those materials with end-themed ingredients at a crafting table to create the Void Beetroot.
- Eat it — even if you're full — and brace for The Black Atmosphere blooms around you.
Overview
Void Beetroot adds a custom overworld biome and a powerful end-themed food item. The Black Atmosphere biome generates naturally and provides unique blocks used to craft the Void Beetroot, a consumable that grants a dramatic triple-effect burst when eaten.
What It Adds
| Content | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Void Beetroot | Food item | The core consumable; always edible |
| Void Loam | Block | Surface layer of the Black Atmosphere biome; mine with a shovel |
| Void Shale | Block | Sub-surface layer; mine with a pickaxe |
| Void Bloom | Block/Plant | Decorative flower; breaks instantly |
| Black Atmosphere | Biome | End-themed overworld biome where the unique blocks generate |
How To Use
Simply right-click and hold to eat the Void Beetroot like any food. It can be eaten at any time, even at full hunger. Upon consuming it, you receive three simultaneous effects:
- Darkness — 25 seconds of deep visual obscurity
- Night Vision — 45 seconds letting you see through the dark
- Regeneration — 8 seconds of health regeneration
The Darkness and Night Vision together create a dramatic atmospheric effect — your vision is suppressed but you can still navigate. The regeneration lets you recover health during the experience.
Crafting And Obtaining
Void Beetroot

The recipe requires materials from both the End and the Black Atmosphere biome:
- Void Shale — mined from the Black Atmosphere biome (pickaxe)
- Void Loam — mined from the Black Atmosphere biome (shovel)
- Ender Pearl, Chorus Flower, End Stone, and a plain Beetroot round out the recipe
Biome Materials
| Block | Where to Find | Best Tool |
|---|---|---|
| Void Loam | Surface floor of the Black Atmosphere biome | Shovel |
| Void Shale | Just below the surface in Black Atmosphere | Pickaxe |
| Void Bloom | Grows on the surface in Black Atmosphere | Any (instabreak) |
Abilities And Mechanics
Void Beetroot grants three effects simultaneously on consumption:
| Effect | Duration | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Darkness | 25 seconds | Heavily dims your vision |
| Night Vision | 45 seconds | Allows sight despite the darkness; outlasts it |
| Regeneration | 8 seconds | Heals you while effects are active |
- The item is always edible, so you can use it as a quick heal even at full hunger.
- The tooltip reads: "Bite into the Black Atmosphere."
Progression And Strategy
- The Black Atmosphere biome generates in the overworld, but requires a trip to The End to gather Ender Pearls and Chorus Flowers for the recipe. Plan accordingly.
- Stockpile Void Beetroots for dangerous situations — the always-edible property makes them reliable emergency heals.
- The Night Vision outlasts the Darkness by 20 seconds, so the experience transitions from eerie to clear visibility mid-duration — useful for dark caves or the End itself.
- Bring a shovel and pickaxe to the Black Atmosphere biome; you'll need both tool types to efficiently gather Void Loam and Void Shale.
