Violet Updraft Hammer

Quickstart

1. At a crafting table, make a Gravity Core, then use it to craft the Violet Updraft Hammer. See the recipes below.
2. Equip the hammer and use its Use Item control to launch nearby creatures upward. Try it with several targets within about five blocks.
3. Attack a target to use the hammer as a melee weapon. The updraft ability and melee hits have separate cooldowns.

Overview

The Violet Updraft Hammer is a melee weapon with an area-launch ability. Using it lifts nearby living targets and gives them Slow Falling, so they drift back down. The ability can affect other players as well as mobs.

What It Adds

• Violet Updraft Hammer: A one-handed melee weapon with 13 attack damage and 800 durability.
• Gravity Core: A crafting ingredient for the hammer.

How To Use

Hold the hammer and use the Use Item control to trigger its updraft. It affects health-bearing entities within five blocks, except you; it does not require you to aim at a particular target. The ability goes on cooldown even if there are no targets nearby.

Attack normally to hit an enemy. Hits against other players also knock them away from you.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Updraft: Launches nearby targets upward and applies Slow Falling for four seconds.
• Ability cooldown: 20 seconds. While it is recharging and you are holding the hammer, the action bar shows the remaining time.
• Melee hits: The hammer deals 13 damage. Attacks have a separate two-second cooldown.
• Player knockback: Hitting another player knocks them away and slightly upward.

Progression And Strategy

Gather the materials for the Gravity Core, then use it to complete the hammer recipe. For the best updraft, get several targets close before using the ability. Give them room overhead, and remember that nearby players can be lifted too.
