Quickstart
- Find a village and look nearby for its stepped vineyard. Use shears on a ripe Grape Vine to harvest 2 Grapes.
- Craft and place a Wine Press:
- Use Grapes on the press to load it, up to 3 at a time. Use an empty glass bottle on the loaded press to make one Wine Bottle per grape.
- Eat Grapes for a small food boost and a little healing, or drink wine for a stronger healing effect.
Overview
Village Vineyards is a small farming and food mod centered on Grapes and healing wine. Its stepped gardens can appear beside villages where the surrounding terrain is suitable. You can harvest their vines or plant your own.
What It Adds

How To Use
Grow and harvest Grapes
Use a Grape on the top of a farmland block with empty space above it to plant a vine. A planted vine ripens after 20 in-game minutes.
Use shears on a ripe vine to collect 2 Grapes without uprooting it. It resets after harvesting and ripens again in 20 in-game minutes. Breaking a ripe vine instead drops 1–3 Grapes.
Press wine
Place a Wine Press, then use Grapes on it to add them one at a time. It holds up to 3. Use an empty glass bottle on the press to turn one stored grape into one Wine Bottle; each bottle uses one grape and one glass bottle.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Wine Press is crafted using the recipe in Quickstart. Grapes are harvested from ripe vines or grown from Grapes on farmland. Glass bottles are needed to collect wine.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Grapes: Restore 2 hunger points and heal 1.5 hearts when eaten. They can be eaten even when you are not hungry.
- Wine Bottles: Give Regeneration II for 12.5 seconds when drunk. They restore no hunger, but can be consumed at any time. The empty glass bottle is returned to your inventory, or dropped if your inventory is full.
- Vines: Shears harvest ripe vines for 2 Grapes and wear down by one durability point. Unripe vines are not ready to harvest.
Progression And Strategy
Harvest village vines with shears to start a grape supply, then plant Grapes on farmland to grow more vines. Keep a few grapes and glass bottles near your press: each grape stored makes one bottle of healing wine.
