Description
/give @s village-constable-ny2eks4w:village_constable_ny2eks4w_spawn_egg/summon village-constable-ny2eks4w:village_constable_ny2eks4wVillage Constables are protective villager officers that patrol villages, respond to danger, pursue players who commit witnessed crimes, and create temporary bedrock jails.
Constables are peaceful toward law-abiding players, but they defend villagers, iron golems, and nearby peaceful players from threats. They also coordinate with other nearby constables when responding to danger.
The mod checks loaded Overworld villages periodically. A village must have:
A village receives a target of two or three constables. The conversion happens automatically while the village is loaded near players. Existing constables remain present and do not naturally despawn.
In Creative mode, use the Village Constable Spawn Egg from the Spawn Eggs category.
You can also use:
/summon village-constable-ny2eks4w:village_constable_ny2eks4w
A spawned constable immediately behaves like a village officer, even if it is placed away from a naturally generated village.
Right-click a constable to open the Constable Jailtime Payment menu.
This payment does not make an active pursuit disappear. It prepares a reduction for a sentence that may follow if a constable catches you.
The Rulebook is an in-game written book containing the village laws, crime information, alarm instructions, jail rules, and general advice.
In Creative mode, find it in the Ingredients category, or use:
/give @s village-constable-ny2eks4w:rulebook
There are no crafting recipes for the mod's items.

| Jail | Created automatically when a constable jails a player |
Constables establish a patrol center when they begin operating. They normally remain around the village and return if they wander away.
They scan nearby areas for:
When a threat is seen, the constable sounds an alarm, pursues the target, and attacks at close range. Idle constables that can see the threat may join the response.
A constable has 30 health and deals 6 damage with each successful attack.
Constables protect nearby players who are:
They attack hostile mobs that are visibly attacking a protected player. Wanted or jailed players do not receive this protection.
Most player crimes require a constable to see what happened.
A constable can witness:
Chest theft is recognized only in lived-in village areas near occupied points of interest. Breaking line of sight or committing the act away from watching constables can prevent the crime from being reported.
Attacking a constable directly immediately alerts that constable and nearby officers. Creative and Spectator players are exempt from the normal crime system.
Each reported crime increases your wanted level. The action bar warns you when constables are pursuing you and shows your wanted level.
A higher crime count increases the eventual jail sentence:
For example, a third recorded crime results in a 20-second base sentence before any emerald reduction is applied.
A wanted player can escape in either of two ways:
While hiding, the action bar displays an escape countdown. If a constable sees you again, the countdown resets. Leaving the village immediately ends the active pursuit.
A constable does not jail a player merely by reaching or touching them. The arrest is completed only when a pursuing constable kills the wanted player.
After the death:
The jail is rebuilt and you are returned inside if you somehow leave it during the sentence.
Each sentence receives one of two randomly selected jail sizes:
The jail is made of bedrock and is generated above the surrounding terrain near the arrest site. It is removed when the sentence ends.
The normal sentence timer counts down in real time. When it reaches zero, you are released and teleported to the surface near the arrest location.
While jailed, use your main hand to right-click—either the air or a block—to open the Jail Sentence Payment menu.
Attacking an iron golem is a crime. Constables respond to golem attacks and pursue the responsible player when possible.
When an iron golem dies near a constable patrol, the constables prioritize avenging it. After the danger has passed, a constable travels to the death site and places a poppy nearby when a suitable location is available.
