Quickstart

1. Craft a Velocity Bar using the recipe below and keep a stack in your hotbar.
2. Hold right-click while the bar is in your hand to eat it — you can do this even when your hunger bar is completely full.
3. After a short eating animation you'll be launched into a blazing sprint with Speed X for 30 seconds. Enjoy the rush!

Overview

Velocity Bar adds a single consumable item to the game: an energy bar engineered for pure speed. One bar gives you an extreme burst of movement that far exceeds anything a potion can offer, making it perfect for traversing long distances, escaping danger, or just having fun going very, very fast.

What It Adds

The Velocity Bar appears in the Food & Drinks creative tab alongside other consumables.

How To Use

• Hold right-click with the Velocity Bar in hand to eat it.
• The eating animation takes the same time as normal food.
• The bar can be eaten at any time — you do not need to be hungry.
• One bar is consumed per use. In Creative Mode the stack is not reduced.
• The in-game tooltip reads: "A high-energy bar that grants extreme Speed X for 30 seconds!"

Abilities And Mechanics

Speed X is the tenth tier of the Speed status effect — dramatically faster than what standard Speed potions provide. With this effect active you can cover enormous distances on foot in the 30-second window.

• Effect duration: 30 seconds (600 ticks)
• Effect level: Speed X (amplifier 9)
• The effect can stack or refresh if you consume multiple bars back-to-back.
• The bar is tagged as a consumable food item, so it works with any mechanic in the game that recognises food.

Progression And Strategy

• Early exploration: Craft a few bars before heading out on a long journey. One bar covers a massive amount of ground and cuts travel time dramatically.
• Emergency escape: Keep a bar in an easily reachable hotbar slot. Because hunger level doesn't matter, you can eat one instantly during combat or a chase.
• Resource cost: The recipe requires a Ghast Tear, making this a mid-to-late game item. Prioritise getting to the Nether to farm Ghasts before stocking up on bars.
• Stacks to 64, so you can carry a large supply without sacrificing inventory space.
