Tip: Place the generator on a flat, open area to give the city room to build without overlapping existing terrain or structures.
Overview
Vaultside Ultimate City is a Bedrock add-on that generates a complete, fully detailed modern metropolis called Ultimate Modern City: Vaultside Expansion directly inside your world. A single special block triggers a performance-friendly scripted build sequence that constructs the entire city — no pre-made map download required. The result is a living urban environment ready for survival, creative building, roleplay, storytelling, and multiplayer exploration on Xbox, Windows, Android, and iOS.
What It Adds
Vaultside Mega City Generator Block
The sole new block added by the mod — and the key to everything. Placing it anywhere in the world instantly begins constructing the full city around that location.
The City — Ultimate Modern City: Vaultside Expansion
Once generated, the world contains a rich, interconnected urban landscape:
| District / Feature | Details |
|---|
| Vault Entrance | Dramatic above-ground vault structure — the mod's signature landmark |
| Downtown | Towering skyscrapers and city core |
| Suburban Neighborhoods | Residential streets and homes |
| Parks | Green spaces throughout the city |
| Beach & Boardwalk | Coastal recreation area |
| Airport | Full airport layout |
| Harbor | Waterfront port area |
| Stadium | Large sports/event venue |
| Water Park | Aquatic attraction |
| Theme-Park District | Original entertainment area |
| Street Infrastructure | Roads, sidewalks, street lighting, and signage |
| Central Spawn Hub | Central point for navigation and multiplayer rendezvous |
How To Use
Generating the City
- Place the Vaultside Mega City Generator Block on the ground. Generation begins the moment it is placed — no right-clicking or activation item needed.
- The build runs in batches to stay performance-friendly, so the city appears progressively rather than all at once.
- You only need to trigger it once. If you break and re-place the block in the same location after the city has already been generated, the generator will not rebuild.
Exploring
- Begin at the central spawn hub, which anchors the road network connecting all districts.
- Follow the roads outward to reach the airport, harbor, beach, and theme park.
- The vault entrance is a prominent above-ground structure — a natural focal point for roleplay and storytelling.
Playing in the City
- Survival: Use the existing buildings and infrastructure as a foundation, gather resources from the world, and build your life within the metropolis.
- Creative: Build on top of the generated infrastructure, extend neighborhoods, or customize existing structures.
- Multiplayer: The central spawn hub and labeled districts make it easy for multiple players to spread out, claim areas, and collaborate.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Vaultside Mega City Generator Block is available in the creative inventory under the Construction tab. In survival, craft it at a crafting table. The recipe unlocks once you have a Beacon in your inventory.
The block requires mid-to-late game materials, reflecting the scale of what it creates:
- Beacon (center) — the recipe unlock trigger
- Gold Ingots (corners)
- Emeralds (top and bottom center)
- Redstone (left and right center)
Abilities And Mechanics
- One-time generation: The generator detects whether the city has already been built at a location and will not run a duplicate build.
- Batched building: The city is constructed in small increments each game tick to avoid freezing or crashing Bedrock devices, even on mobile.
- Completion signal: When the city finishes generating, a level-up sound plays for all players and totem particles erupt above the generator block, making it easy to know when it's safe to start exploring.
- Breakable block: The generator block can be mined with a pickaxe (takes about 3 seconds) and has solid explosion resistance, so it won't be accidentally destroyed.
Progression And Strategy
- Plan your placement. The city generates outward from the block's position. Choose a large, open area — ideally at sea level on a flat biome — to prevent buildings from clipping into hills or bodies of water.
- Craft the generator in mid-game. You'll need a Beacon, which requires a Nether Star from the Wither. Treat the city build as a major milestone reward after defeating the Wither.
- Use the spawn hub as a base. The central hub connects all districts via the road network. Set your spawn or establish a home there for easy access to every part of the city.
- Layer your own builds on top. The city's streets, parks, and empty lots are designed as a canvas. Add your own interiors, underground networks, or extended districts without breaking the existing layout.
- Multiplayer district claims. With so many distinct neighborhoods — airport, harbor, stadium, theme park, suburbs — large multiplayer groups can each claim a district and develop it independently.
