Tree Harvester

Quickstart

1. Install the mod and launch Minecraft (no configuration needed).
2. Find any tree in the world.
3. Break the bottom log block as you normally would in Survival mode.
4. The entire tree — every connected log and nearby natural leaf block — is automatically felled in one chop, with all normal drops appearing on the ground.
5. Watch your action bar for a message confirming how many extra blocks were harvested.

That's all there is to it. No crafting, no special tools, no keybinds.

Overview

Tree Harvester is a zero-setup quality-of-life mod that makes chopping down trees instant and complete. The moment you mine a single log, the mod finds every log block connected to it and removes them all at once, then clears the surrounding natural leaves. Every block drops its normal loot just as if you had mined each one individually, so you never lose resources.

What It Adds

Tree Harvester adds no new items, blocks, or crafting recipes. Its entire feature set is a single automatic behaviour that activates whenever you break a log block in Survival mode.

How To Use

Felling a tree Simply mine any log block in Survival mode. The mod flood-fills outward from that log, collecting every connected log it can reach within the size limits, then breaks them all. Nearby naturally-grown leaves (those not manually placed by a player) are swept up in the same action.

Drops All blocks yield their standard drops. This means your axe's Fortune or Silk Touch enchantments apply normally, and saplings, sticks, and apples all drop as expected.

Creative mode The auto-fell behaviour still activates in Creative mode, but no item drops are generated, consistent with how Creative mode normally works.

Action-bar message After a successful multi-block fell, your action bar briefly displays:

Tree Harvester felled X more tree blocks.

This only appears when at least one extra block beyond the one you directly mined was broken.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Flood-fill detection — Starting from the broken log, the mod traces all touching log blocks (including diagonal connections within the tree canopy) up to the configured horizontal and vertical distance limits.
• Leaf detection — Within a 6-block radius of any harvested log, leaf blocks that are flagged as natural (i.e., not player-placed) are also removed.
• Recursion protection — An internal guard prevents the harvest from triggering itself in a loop, ensuring no cascading or infinite-break scenarios.
• Tag-based compatibility — Logs are identified using Minecraft's #logs block tag and leaves via the #leaves tag, so any mod that registers its wood types to these tags is automatically supported without additional configuration.
• No setup required — There are no config files, in-game menus, or toggles to manage.

Progression And Strategy

• Early game — Use Tree Harvester to quickly clear forests and stockpile wood without spending time chopping every log individually.
• Replanting — Because saplings drop normally, replanting and re-harvesting is straightforward, making tree farms more efficient.
• Large trees — The mod's size limits comfortably cover all vanilla tree types, including dark oak and jungle giants. Very large modded mega-trees may only be partially felled if they exceed the limits, so consider breaking a log higher up the trunk to catch the rest.
• Enchanted axes — Bring a Fortune III axe when you want maximum sapling and apple yield, since Fortune applies to every log and leaf block broken by the harvest sweep.
