Overview
The Toxic Flameblade is a single, powerful melee weapon built from a netherite sword infused with blaze powder, fire charges, and a spider eye. The result is a glowing, enchanted-looking blade that hits far harder than any vanilla sword and leaves enemies burning and poisoned with every successful strike.
What It Adds
- Toxic Flameblade — a one-handed sword-type weapon that:
- Deals roughly 3 times the damage of a netherite sword.
- Sets struck targets on fire for several seconds.
- Inflicts a strong Poison effect on struck targets.
- Always glows with an enchanted shimmer.
- Behaves like a sword for combat purposes (sweeping attacks, sword-related interactions).
How To Use
- Craft the blade once (see recipe below) and place it in your hotbar.
- Equip it in your main hand like any other sword.
- Attack any living entity — the fire and poison effects trigger automatically on hit, no special input required.
- Because of its huge damage output, it's most useful against tougher enemies (bosses, hostile mobs with high health) where the burn-and-poison combo adds significant extra damage over time.
- The weapon stacks to only 1 per slot, just like a normal sword.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Toxic Flameblade is crafted on a crafting table using a netherite sword, blaze powder, a fire charge, and a spider eye.
It can be found in the Combat tab of the Creative inventory as well.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Massive Damage: The blade deals about three times the base damage of a netherite sword, making it one of the hardest-hitting weapons available.
- Ignite on Hit: Every successful strike sets the target ablaze for about 10 seconds.
- Poison on Hit: Every successful strike also applies a strong Poison effect for about 10 seconds, dealing damage over time even if the target flees or blocks further attacks.
- Always Enchanted Glow: The item always displays the shimmering enchantment effect, regardless of actual enchantments applied.
Progression And Strategy
Because crafting requires a full netherite sword plus nether-related materials (blaze powder, fire charge), obtaining the Toxic Flameblade is meant as an end-game upgrade after you've already progressed through the Nether. Once crafted, it replaces your sword as your primary weapon — the fire and poison damage over time make it especially effective against high-health enemies, since the damage continues even after the initial hit lands.
