Description
The Torch Lever is a decorative redstone block that looks like a torch but acts as a lever—right-click it to toggle on or off and when powered it emits a full redstone signal of strength 15 with a click sound and flickering flame particles. When switched on the lever visually flips to the opposite direction (and its collision/outline matches the new facing), making it great for concealed or dynamic redstone switches.
Mod Wiki
Torch Lever
Quickstart
- Craft a Torch Lever using two Torches stacked above a Lever:

- Place it on any surface like a normal torch — it faces away from the block it's attached to.
- Right-click to toggle it on. You'll hear a lever click and see a small flame particle burst.
- Right-click again to toggle it off.
- Connect redstone dust or a comparator nearby to use its signal output.
Overview
The Torch Lever is a decorative redstone switch that disguises itself as a torch. It blends naturally into builds while functioning as a fully operational lever, making it ideal for hidden switches, secret doors, and atmospheric redstone contraptions.
What It Adds
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Torch Lever | A placeable block that looks like a torch and acts as a lever |
How To Use
- Place the Torch Lever on any solid surface (wall, floor, or ceiling face). It orients itself away from the block it's placed on, just like a regular torch.
- Right-click to toggle the switch. Each click flips it to the opposite facing direction visually, representing the on/off state.
- When ON: emits a redstone signal of strength 15 in all directions, plays a click sound, and spawns flickering flame particles.
- When OFF: emits no signal and looks like an unlit torch.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Redstone signal strength: 15 (full power) when switched on, 0 when off.
- Direct signal: Also provides a strong (direct) redstone signal of strength 15, so it can power blocks it's attached to without extra dust.
- Visual flip: On activation, the torch visually flips to face the opposite direction — this is the toggle indicator. The collision box and outline box update to match.
- Flame particles: A small burst of flame particles appears at the torch head each time you switch it on.
- Sound: Plays the standard lever click sound on both on and off toggles.
- Hardness: Equivalent to stone (strength 1.5) — requires a tool to break quickly but can be broken by hand.
Progression And Strategy
- Hidden switches: Mount a Torch Lever on a wall among regular torches. Players won't know which torch is actually a switch until they right-click it — perfect for secret doors or puzzle rooms.
- Atmosphere + function: Use it in dungeons, taverns, or castles where a torch-lined corridor doubles as a redstone control panel.
- Full signal strength: Because it outputs signal 15, you can drive long redstone lines or power comparator-based systems directly without a repeater at the source.
- Concealed wiring: Run redstone behind walls and let a Torch Lever on the surface be the only visible control, keeping builds clean and immersive.
