Quickstart

1. Open your inventory in Creative Mode and find the Tip item in the Tools tab.
2. Hold it and check its tooltip — it reads "Use /tip for a random tip!"
3. Run /tip in chat to receive your first tip.
4. Keep running /tip to work through the full pool. Tips won't repeat until you've seen them all.

Overview

Tip is a lighthearted mod that delivers a rotating pool of deliberately useless, vague, and obvious tips to players. Whether through the in-game item or a quick command, you'll be treated to pearls of wisdom such as "Dirt is brown" and "The ground is down." Beneath the comedy, there's one genuinely rare secret tip hiding in the pool — finding it triggers a special surprise.

What It Adds

• Tip item — A tool-tab item that reminds you to run /tip. Its tooltip warns that tips may not be useful (they are not).
• /tip command — The primary way to receive tips. Can target other players.
• A large pool of tips — Ranging from painfully obvious facts to vague non-advice, all tracked per player so you cycle through the full set before any repeat.
• Secret tip & advancement — One extremely rare tip breaks the fourth wall. Discovering it grants the hidden challenge advancement "The Tip Knows" and teleports you.

How To Use

Receiving Tips

Run the command from chat or the console:

Tips are tracked individually per player. Once you've seen every tip in the pool, your history resets and the cycle begins again.

The Tip Item

Grab the Tip item from the Tools creative tab. It has no active use — its purpose is decorative and informational, bearing the tooltip reminder to use /tip.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Per-player tip history — Each player has their own record of which tips they've received. You won't see the same tip twice until you've exhausted the entire pool.
• Tip pool — The pool contains a large collection of tips spanning three flavours: obvious facts ("Water is wet."), vague non-advice ("Think about it. But not too hard."), and absurdist observations ("Every 60 seconds in Minecraft, a minute passes.").
• Secret tip — Somewhere in the pool is a single rare tip that breaks the fourth wall. When it triggers, two things happen simultaneously:
  • You are teleported to a different location.
  • You unlock the hidden challenge advancement "The Tip Knows", which is announced to all players in chat.

Progression And Strategy

There is no traditional progression — but if you want to hunt the secret:

• Keep running /tip regularly. The secret tip is rare and may take many cycles to appear.
• Watch for the "The Tip Knows" advancement toast; it announces itself in chat so the whole server knows when someone finds it.
• The advancement is hidden, so you won't see it in your advancement screen until you earn it.
• Operators can use /tip @a to push tips to the whole server at once, speeding up the hunt for groups.
