Description:
.mcaddon and apply both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack to a new or existing survival world.Tiny Iron Horde is a zombie-apocalypse overhaul. Every vanilla zombie variant — zombies, husks, drowned, zombie villagers — is replaced with the Tiny Iron Baby Zombie: a half-scale, fast-moving, fully armored attacker. These mobs spawn naturally in any dark area and also arrive in scripted hordes that periodically surge toward every online player. The mod makes the overworld meaningfully more dangerous from the very first night.
A custom mob that supersedes all vanilla zombie types. Key traits at a glance:
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Size | Half the scale of a normal zombie (baby-sized) |
| Health | 24 HP |
| Base attack damage | 5 (before weapon bonus) |
| Movement speed | Fast (0.36, faster than a standard zombie) |
| XP on player kill | 12 |
| Can break doors | Yes |
| Can climb | Yes |
| Amphibious | Yes |
Every Tiny Iron Baby Zombie spawns pre-equipped with a full matching armor set and a sword chosen from one of five tiers (see Armor Tiers below). They target players, iron golems, snow golems, villagers, and wandering traders within 35 blocks.
Each zombie rolls a random armor tier on spawn. Tiers and their approximate spawn rates:
| Tier | Armor | Sword | Approximate Chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leather | Leather full set | Wooden Sword | ~34% |
| Gold | Golden full set | Golden Sword | ~22% |
| Chainmail | Chainmail full set | Stone Sword | ~20% |
| Iron | Iron full set | Iron Sword | ~18% |
| Diamond | Diamond full set | Diamond Sword | ~6% |
Tiny Iron Baby Zombies spawn in groups of 4–8 in any dark area (light level 0–7), on the surface or underground, in biomes that support monster spawning. They use the monster population cap, so they respect the world's overall mob limits.
Every ~35 seconds, the game attempts to spawn a scripted horde around each player:
Any vanilla zombie (zombie, husk, drowned, zombie villager) that spawns within 64 blocks of a player is immediately replaced by a Tiny Iron Baby Zombie. This happens continuously so the replacement is seamless throughout the world.
There are no new crafting recipes in this mod. The Tiny Iron Baby Zombie Spawn Egg is available in Creative mode inventory for manual spawning and testing.
To obtain Tiny Iron Baby Zombies in survival you simply play — they spawn automatically in dark areas and arrive in hordes.
When killed by a player or their pets, each zombie drops:
Early game: The first night is significantly more dangerous than vanilla. Light up your base perimeter thoroughly before dark. Leather- and gold-tier zombies are common and manageable, but diamond-tier ones can appear immediately.
Horde timing: Hordes arrive roughly every 35 seconds. Between waves you have a brief window to reposition, heal, or repair. Listen for the action-bar warning and retreat indoors or to high ground.
Mob cap awareness: The scripted horde skips spawning when 28+ zombies are already nearby. Actively clearing zombies around you keeps hordes arriving at full size, but it also means staying on the move is a viable tactic — thin the crowd to prevent the cap from suppressing waves when you want to farm.
Gear farming: Because every zombie wears a full armor set and carries a sword, the horde is a direct gear source. Early diamond-tier kills can accelerate your progression substantially. Looting-enchanted swords improve the rare drop rate for iron ingots and food.
Golems as defenders: Iron golems are valid targets for the zombies, making them useful distractions, but they will be swarmed quickly given the speed and numbers of the horde. Build multiple golems and replace them regularly.
Lighting is your best defense. Proper lighting (light level 8 or higher) prevents natural spawns entirely. Focus on lighting your base, then expand outward to reduce the ambient zombie population in your area.
