Thunder Medallion

Quickstart

1. Craft the Thunder Medallion using the recipe below.
2. Place it anywhere in your inventory — it does not need to be held or equipped.
3. Crouch (sneak) to instantly call down lightning on every nearby mob within a 10×10 block area centred on you.
4. Watch the chat for a confirmation message showing how many mobs were struck, then wait 30 seconds before crouching again.

Overview

Thunder Medallion is a Bedrock Edition mod for Minecraft 1.21.93. It adds a single epic-rarity item — the Thunder Medallion — that turns your sneak key into a lightning strike button, zapping every mob around you in an instant.

What It Adds

The medallion appears in the Equipment tab of the creative inventory and can be placed in either the main hand slot or the off-hand slot, though it works from anywhere in your inventory.

How To Use

• Keep it in your inventory. The medallion does not need to be in your hand or hotbar — any inventory slot works.
• Press Sneak to trigger the ability. The moment you begin crouching, the medallion detects the press and fires.
• Lightning bolts spawn directly on every mob within a 10×10 block square (5 blocks in each direction on the X and Z axes) centred on your position.
• Players are never targeted.
• After triggering, a chat message tells you how many mobs were struck. If no mobs were nearby, you will also see a "no mobs struck" notice.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Area of effect: 10×10 blocks (5 blocks from the player on each horizontal axis). Height is not restricted, so mobs above or below you within that column can be hit.
• Cooldown: 30 seconds after each successful activation. If you try to sneak again before the cooldown expires, a message shows the remaining seconds and the ability does not fire.
• Trigger: The ability fires on the transition from standing to crouching — holding sneak does not repeat the strike.
• Enchantable: The medallion can be enchanted using the sword enchantment table slot.

Progression And Strategy

• Craft the medallion as soon as you have the required materials and keep it in your inventory as a panic button for mob encounters.
• Because the cooldown is per-player and tracked continuously, plan your sneak presses carefully — wasting the ability on a single mob means waiting the full 30 seconds.
• The lightning deals fire damage and can ignite mobs, so use it in open areas to avoid accidentally setting flammable structures alight.
• Stacking the medallion with armour or potions that improve survivability lets you confidently wade into large groups and clear them with a single crouch.
