Description:
The Hollow Veil is a full custom overworld biome that transforms forest chunks into an ancient, eternal-twilight wood with a dark violet-gray sky, pale fog, nearly black grass, crimson-purple leaves, and ink-black water. It spawns massive crooked Veilwood trees that twist into natural tunnels, deep fog-hidden ravines, giant skeletal roots, charcoal stone spires, floating rock fragments, pools of still black water, and glowing Pale Veil Mushroom patches, plus new surface blocks like Black Veil Grass, Veilwood Log, and Veilwood Leaves. Dense fog, drifting wind particles, ground mist, occasional watching-fog messages, brief glowing-eye flame effects, and distant purple lightning create tense ambience; install and enable the addon’s resource and behavior packs and use /locate biome the_hollow_veil_t73hcczr:hollow_veil to find it in your world.

Overview
The Hollow Veil replaces ordinary forest chunks with an ancient, perpetually twilit woodland. The sky shifts to a brooding violet-gray, the grass darkens to near-black, water turns to ink, and crimson-purple leaves drape massive crooked trees. This is not a dungeon or a dimension — it is a naturally generating overworld biome layered directly into your world, waiting to be stumbled upon or sought out.

Abilities And Mechanics
Living Ambience
While you are standing inside The Hollow Veil, the biome is actively alive around you. Every few seconds:
- Ground mist rises at your feet as wisps of smoke drift upward.
- Wind particles drift through the air nearby in unpredictable directions.
- Watching-fog messages occasionally appear in your action bar in dark gray text: "The fog shifts. Something watches from the veil."
- Glowing-eye flame effects briefly flare at random spots a short distance away, suggesting unseen presences.
- Distant purple thunder rumbles at low volume from somewhere deep in the veil.
These effects are purely atmospheric — they deal no damage and spawn no mobs — but they create a persistent sense of being observed.
Progression And Strategy
- Finding the biome is the first challenge. Use
/locate biome the_hollow_veil_t73hcczr:hollow_veil as soon as your world loads to get a heading. The biome can generate far from spawn.
- Harvesting blocks is straightforward once you arrive. Bring a shovel for Black Veil Grass, an axe for Veilwood Logs, and a hoe for Veilwood Leaves. Pale Veil Mushrooms break with a single bare-hand hit.
- Navigating safely requires caution. The dense fog and ink-black water can hide ravines and sudden drop-offs. Light sources help, and the gentle glow of Pale Veil Mushroom patches can serve as natural landmarks in the dark.
- Using the blocks as decoration is a natural goal. Veilwood Logs, Leaves, Black Veil Grass, and Pale Veil Mushrooms all bring the biome's eerie aesthetic back to your base or build.
