Quickstart

Craft a Grappling Hook at a crafting table with . You can also craft the String Swinger item with ; it uses the same movement effect.

Hold either item, aim at a solid block, and use it. Try aiming toward a high ledge or across a gap to get pulled in that direction. If no suitable block is in your line of sight, using the item still gives you a short forward-and-upward boost.

Overview

String Swinger is a movement-focused mod. Its two items give you a quick burst toward where you are looking, accompanied by a short particle strand that resembles a rope. It does not leave a rope attached to the block.

What It Adds

How To Use

1. Hold the Grappling Hook or String Swinger.
2. Aim at a solid block and activate the item.
3. Use the burst of movement to travel toward the target or gain height.

The hook can target solid blocks up to 16 blocks away. Passable blocks and liquids are ignored. With no target, the effect points roughly nine blocks along your view direction.

Abilities And Mechanics

Using either item applies an impulse toward the target, with an upward boost. A brief line of particles marks the path toward the target point. The effect is a burst rather than a sustained swing, so activate the item again when you want another boost.

Progression And Strategy

Try aiming above your destination to gain height, or across a gap to move forward. Practice with visible solid blocks at different distances to learn how the pull changes with your aim.
