Stormbind Lash

Quickstart

1. Gather Purpur Blocks, Lightning Rods, an Amethyst Shard, and a Blaze Rod.
2. Craft the Stormbind Lash at a crafting table (recipe below).
3. Hold the whip in your hand.
4. Right-click a block to fire a grapple hook that yanks you toward it.
5. Right-click a player or mob to chain and restrain them for 5 seconds.
6. Left-click to attack for a devastating 40-heart strike with a lightning strike visual.

Overview

The Stormbind Lash is a purple-and-black, lightning-coated whip classified as an epic-rarity weapon. It serves three distinct roles: a mobility tool, a crowd-control device, and a high-damage melee weapon. Its enchant glint is always visible, and it accepts all standard sword enchantments, making it highly customizable.

Abilities And Mechanics

Left-Click Attack — Lightning Strike

Striking any entity with a left-click deals 40 hearts (80 HP) of bonus damage on top of normal weapon damage. A lightning bolt spawns on the target at the moment of impact, accompanied by a whip-crack sound.

Right-Click on a Block — Grapple

Aiming at a block and pressing Use (right-click / tap) fires an electric grapple toward that block's face. A lightning bolt flashes at the target location, and you are pulled toward it across up to 10 pull steps. There is a 1-second cooldown between grapple uses. If the grapple is already active, triggering it again cancels the current pull first.

If the grapple is on cooldown, a timer (in seconds) appears on your action bar.

Right-Click on a Player or Mob — Chain Restraint

Aiming at another player or entity and pressing Use applies a powerful chain effect for 5 seconds:

• Heavy Slowness (Amplifier VI) — nearly immobilizes the target.
• Weakness (Amplifier III) — severely reduces the target's attack power.
• A lightning bolt spawns on the target as a visual cue.
• Chained players see the message "⛓ You have been chained by the Stormbind Lash! ⛓" on their action bar.
• The attacker sees a confirmation message as well.

The chain ability shares the same 1-second cooldown as the grapple.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Stormbind Lash at a crafting table. The recipe unlocks automatically once you have any of the required materials in your inventory.

Repairing

The Stormbind Lash can be repaired using Amethyst Shards. Each shard restores 390 durability points. Use an anvil to combine shards with a damaged Lash.

Progression And Strategy

• Early mobility: The grapple ability lets you scale cliffs, cross gaps, and reposition in combat instantly — prioritize finding Purpur Blocks (End) and Lightning Rods to craft it as soon as possible.
• PvP control: Chain an opponent before engaging in melee. The near-total slowdown and weakness make them nearly helpless for 5 seconds — more than enough time to land killing blows.
• Enchanting: Because the Lash accepts all sword enchantments, apply Sharpness, Fire Aspect, Looting, or Smite to dramatically amplify its already enormous base damage.
• Durability management: With a 25–100% chance of taking durability damage per use and 1,561 max durability, keep Amethyst Shards on hand for repairs during extended adventures.
• Combo use: Grapple to close distance instantly, then chain the target before they can react, and finish with a left-click lightning strike — a lethal three-step sequence.
