Steel City Frontier

Quickstart

1. Start a new world — the mod replaces plains and sunflower plains biomes with the city biome automatically. Use /locate biome to find the nearest city if you spawn elsewhere.
2. Explore streets to gather iron ingots, redstone, sticks, and string from loot and the environment.
3. At a crafting table, craft a City Taxi placer item and place it on a road to spawn your vehicle. Right-click / interact to Drive Taxi.
4. While riding, use your action button (Jump/Use) to fire the Taxi Blaster.
5. Craft and equip the Metro armor set and grab a Roadblade or Steel Pistol to handle threats on the streets.

Overview

Steel City Frontier transforms the Overworld's flat grasslands into a living urban environment. Where plains and sunflower plains once generated, you'll now find a city biome filled with asphalt roads, concrete sidewalks, small buildings, train station platforms, and taxi stands. The biome is fully integrated with Minecraft's world generation — it uses real surface-level terrain blocks and is locatable with the standard /locate biome command.

On top of exploration, the mod adds a complete set of city-themed gear: a rideable taxi vehicle with a weapons system, a Metro armor set, and several craftable weapons and tools.

How To Use

Finding the City

If you don't spawn directly in the city biome, run:

/locate biome com_steel_city_frontier_2wr7u4bn:city

The biome generates wherever plains or sunflower plains would normally appear.

Riding the City Taxi

1. Craft the City Taxi placer item (see recipes below).
2. Hold it and use/place it on the ground — the taxi vehicle spawns at that location.
3. Walk up to the taxi and interact ("Drive Taxi" prompt) to mount it.
4. Steer with your movement controls just like a rideable animal.
5. Press Jump / Use while riding to fire the Taxi Blaster (fires an arrow-based projectile with a small explosion on hit; does not break blocks).
6. Sneak to dismount. You can remount the taxi after dismounting.

Tip: While holding the City Taxi placer, your action bar will display a reminder about controls.

Using the Steel Pistol

Hold the Steel Pistol and use (right-click / tap) to fire an arrow projectile in the direction you are looking. No ammunition is consumed — the pistol has 384 durability uses.

Using the Metro Bow

Hold the Metro Bow and charge it like a standard bow. It uses arrows from your inventory (or offhand). It fires a critical-power arrow at full draw.

All items are crafted at a crafting table. Recipes unlock when you pick up the listed trigger material.

Abilities And Mechanics

Taxi Blaster

When you ride the City Taxi and fire (Jump/Use), a projectile launches forward at speed. On impact it creates a small explosion (radius 2) that does not break blocks but damages nearby mobs and players, accompanied by critical-hit particles. There is a brief cooldown between shots.

Steel Pistol

Fires a fast arrow-like projectile directly from your view direction on each use. No bow charge time required — just point and tap.

Metro Bow

Functionally a reinforced bow. Charge it fully for a critical-power shot. Movement is slowed while drawing (standard bow behavior). Uses standard arrows as ammunition.

Utility Pickaxe

A robust iron-tier pickaxe with high durability (900). Mines pickaxe-compatible blocks efficiently with built-in efficiency.

Roadblade

A melee weapon in the sword family dealing 7 damage per hit with 900 durability — stronger and more durable than a standard iron sword.

Progression And Strategy

1. Arrive and explore — spawn in or travel to the city biome. Loot buildings and station platforms for materials.
2. Gear up early — iron ingots are your core material. Craft the Utility Pickaxe first to mine city blocks and gather resources faster.
3. Build your armor — the full Metro set provides 20 total armor points (matching iron armor). Craft pieces as iron becomes available.
4. Choose your weapons — the Roadblade suits aggressive close-quarters street combat; the Steel Pistol gives rapid-fire ranged capability without managing arrows; the Metro Bow rewards patient aiming with powerful critical shots.
5. Craft the City Taxi — once you have iron, glass, redstone, and black wool, the taxi opens up fast traversal along the city's road network. Use the Taxi Blaster to engage enemies while moving.
6. Use /locate biome to find city regions you haven't explored yet and discover new loot opportunities in buildings and train station structures.
