Starborne

Quickstart

• In Creative, select the Starborne Spawn Egg and use it where you want the mob to appear. With cheats enabled, you can also run /summon com_starborne_i6cdjdja:mycustom.
• In Survival, look in dark underground areas of the End, including beneath its islands. Starborne can be hard to spot as it flies below the islands and briefly turns invisible before striking.
• To befriend one, use popped chorus fruit on it. Each fruit has a 35% chance to tame it, so bring extras. A wild Starborne may attack you while you approach.

Overview

Starborne is a large, flying End predator. It hunts players and Endermen while wild; once tamed, it follows its owner and fights hostile monsters instead.

What It Adds

The mod adds the Starborne mob and its spawn egg. Starborne has 80 health and hovers through the air rather than walking or swimming.

How To Use

Feed popped chorus fruit to a wild Starborne until it becomes tamed. A tamed one follows you and can attack nearby monsters, including ones you attack or that attack you. Stay within range: it does not teleport to catch up if you leave it behind.

Crafting And Obtaining

Starborne spawns naturally in dark underground parts of the End. There is no crafting recipe for the mob; use its spawn egg in Creative or summon it with a command.

When killed, it drops either 1–3 cooked cod or 1–2 cooked salmon. A player kill also has a chance to yield an Ender Pearl; Looting can improve the chance.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Starborne flies and hovers, and avoids End Stone and End Stone Bricks while navigating.
• Its attack deals 12 damage to most targets. Against Endermen, it deals 40 damage; killing an Enderman also grants Starborne regeneration.
• Wild Starborne targets players and Endermen. Tamed Starborne targets hostile monsters, not players.

Progression And Strategy

For a safer first encounter, bring several popped chorus fruits and approach carefully: the wild mob can attack from nearby, and its attack includes a brief invisibility window. Once befriended, keep it close while exploring the End so it can help defend you.
