Squidward

Quickstart

• Open your Creative inventory and search for the Squidward Spawn Egg to place him wherever you like.
• Alternatively, just play normally — Squidward can rarely spawn near you on his own, especially while you're underground in caves.
• Once he appears, keep your distance and watch him. He starts out slow, quiet, and stationary — that's normal.
• If you look directly at him for a couple of seconds, he will scream and immediately sprint at you at high speed. Be ready to fight or flee.
• After he manages to land his attack, he vanishes from the world entirely.

Overview

Squidward is a rare, unsettling humanoid mob designed to catch players off guard. He looks like a villager at a glance, but behaves nothing like one. Most of the time he's calm, slow, and harmless-looking — but staring at him for too long flips him into a screaming, fast-moving attacker. Once he strikes a player, he disappears, making every encounter a short, tense, one-time event.

What It Adds

• Squidward — a hostile, villager-shaped mob with unique sounds, an eerie idle state, and a sudden aggressive attack mode.
• Squidward Spawn Egg — lets you place Squidward directly into the world from Creative mode.
• Custom sound effects: an ambient/creepy cave-like noise while calm, a startling scream when he notices you, and unsettling footstep audio while he's charging in.

How To Use

• Spawning via egg: Use the Squidward Spawn Egg on the ground like any other spawn egg to place him. Note that using the egg directly on an existing Squidward has no special effect.
• Natural spawning: Squidward can also appear on his own near players, completely at random. The chance is extremely low on the surface and noticeably higher when you're in caves. The more times Squidward has successfully attacked in your world, the rarer future natural spawns become.
• Triggering him: While calm, Squidward stays mostly still, occasionally looking toward nearby players. He will not move to attack until a player looks directly at him continuously for about two seconds.
• The jumpscare: Once triggered, he lets out a scream, speeds up dramatically, and charges straight at the player who spotted him.
• After the attack: Once Squidward successfully hits a player, he vanishes for good — there's no fighting him down over multiple encounters. Each Squidward you meet is a one-time threat.

Crafting And Obtaining

Squidward has no crafting recipes. He is obtained purely through:

• Placing the Squidward Spawn Egg from Creative mode, or
• Rare natural spawning near players, which is more likely in caves and decreases in frequency the more times he has attacked in your world.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Calm state: Moves slowly, stays mostly stationary, and occasionally turns to look at nearby players. Plays quiet, creepy ambient sounds.
• Stare detection: If a player looks directly at Squidward continuously for roughly two seconds, he becomes aggravated.
• Aggro state: Plays a loud jumpscare scream, gains a large speed boost, and sprints directly at the player who triggered him with melee attacks.
• Vanishing: After successfully attacking a player, Squidward disappears from the world — he cannot be found or fought again in that encounter.
• Rarity scaling: Each successful Squidward attack increases the rarity of his future natural spawns, making him progressively harder to encounter again.

Progression And Strategy

Squidward isn't a boss to defeat or a resource to farm — he's a surprise encounter. Since he vanishes after one successful hit, the real challenge is reacting fast: back away, avoid extended eye contact if you want to stay safe, or stand your ground and fight once he charges. Keep an ear out for his ambient sounds and footsteps in caves — hearing him before seeing him might give you the edge to avoid the jumpscare, or to prepare for it.
