1. Craft the Smiling Echo Orb using the recipe below.
2. Place it in your world like any block — it will appear as a friendly, glowing orb structure.
3. Talk to it! Interact with the orb regularly to keep it happy.
4. Whatever you do, don't ignore it for too long. An orb left alone for several minutes will lose its patience — and its smile.

Overview

The Smiling Echo Orb is a strange, sentient decoration that reacts to how you treat it. Freshly placed, it greets you warmly and responds to conversation with cheerful messages. But this orb has moods, and moods can sour. Pay attention to it, and it stays a pleasant companion for your builds. Ignore it, and it will transform into something far less friendly.

What It Adds

• Smiling Echo Orb (item) — a placeable item that creates the orb structure in the world.
• Smiling Echo Orb (block structure) — a multi-part floating orb built from several connected blocks, oriented to face the direction you placed it.
• A hidden mood system tied to each placed orb, tracked individually per orb location.

How To Use

• Place it: Use the Smiling Echo Orb item on a wall, floor, or any surface — it assembles automatically into its full orb shape, facing outward from where you placed it.
• Interact with it: Right-click/interact with the orb to "talk" to it. It will respond with a message in chat and play a greeting sound.
• Watch its mood: Each response includes a mood indicator in chat, letting you know how the orb currently feels about you.
• Keep visiting: The orb tracks how long it's been since you last interacted with it. Interacting regularly keeps its mood high and its expression happy.
• Don't neglect it: If roughly three minutes pass without any interaction, the orb's mood begins decaying steadily.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Mood scale: Each orb has an internal mood value that starts neutral and shifts based on your interactions — friendly chats raise it, silence or negative interactions lower it.
• Sentiment responses: The orb reacts differently depending on your interactions, offering positive, neutral, or negative flavor lines along with a mood label so you can gauge its current state.
• Directional placement: The orb structure automatically orients itself (north, south, east, or west) based on how you placed it, so it always "faces" toward you.
• Neglect consequence: If an orb's mood drops too low from being ignored for too long, it loses patience entirely.

Progression And Strategy

• Treat placed orbs like little pets — visiting them and interacting periodically keeps them content and harmless.
• If you plan to build near an orb long-term, check in on it now and then rather than leaving it dormant for extended stretches.
• Should an orb's mood collapse from neglect, expect a dramatic transformation: the entire orb structure vanishes and is replaced by a hostile creature spawned right at its former location, announced with a warning message in chat. Be ready to fight or flee if this happens near your base.
• Consider placing orbs in frequently visited areas (near crafting stations, farms, or your main base) so upkeep interactions happen naturally as part of your routine.
